The Real Reason Kaitlyn Bristowe Was In Tears After Her DWTS Rehearsal

Kaitlyn Bristowe has had quite the reality TV journey, going from appearing as a contestant on Season 19 of The Bachelor to being the leading lady on Season 11 of The Bachelorette in 2015, which apparently wasn't that much fun. In 2020, she went on to join Dancing with the Stars and actually got advice from Bachelorette alum Hannah Brown, who had a similar path on reality television.

For Season 29 of DWTS, Kaitlyn was paired with pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev and the duo have gone on to slay – even during a performance where she had an ankle injury. Needless to say, Dancing with the Stars hasn't been all glitter and dips for Kaitlyn. In fact, in November 2020, Kaitlyn took to Instagram to open up about her tough journey on the reality dance competition. On Nov. 15, 2020, just one day before the Season 29 Dancing with the Stars Semi-Finals, Kaitlyn actually cried on her Instagram Story and shared what was really going on. Here's what she had to say.

Rehearsals don't always go as planned for Kaitlyn Bristowe

Kaitlyn Bristowe jumped on her Instagram Story on Nov. 15, 2020, to show fans a day in the life of rehearsals for Dancing with the Stars. She took fans into the dance studio, the wardrobe room and even backstage. True to her word, Kaitlyn brought fans into every part of her day — even the disappointing moments. After rehearsal, a visibly upset Kaitlyn spoke to her fans, saying (via E! News), "Now's the part where I cry into my salad." Kaitlyn started laughing and said the scene reminded her of being on The Bachelorette, where she would also cry into her salads.

"You want rehearsals to go a certain way and when they don't I just get so disappointed in myself," Kaitlyn explained (via E! News). "You work so hard to get to this point and you watch it back and you're like, 'I'm better than that,'" Kaitlyn said with a disappointed face. However, a less than perfect rehearsal wasn't the only reason Kaitlyn was teary-eyed.

According to Us Weekly, the dance that Kaitlyn is slated to perform on Nov. 16, 2020, with partner Artem Chigvintsev is a tribute to her childhood friend who died when Kaitlyn was 18. The song that she and Artem chose was the same song that played at her friend's funeral. That's a lot to handle! That being said, fans know Kaitlyn has a big heart and a penchant for hard work and determination, so there's no doubt she'll totally give it her all.
