Why Jennifer Lopez's New Album Cover Is Causing A Stir

Jennifer Lopez is not afraid to remind everyone that she has still got it. Following her rather steamy performance with Colombian singer Maluma at the 2020 American Music Awards, the Maid in Manhattan actress took a risqué route with the cover art for her single "In The Morning." The 51-year-old singer posed completely in the buff for the official cover art for the single. The attention grabbing, NSFW cover art shows off JLo's fit physique in profile, while rocking a short blonde bob. The jaw-dropping cover was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who have also captured the breathtaking images of Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna, and Angelina Jolie.

The "On The Floor" singer shared the cover first via her SMS distribution channel, meaning fans received the risky image as a text message. She later posted the cover art on her Instagram, writing, "Surprise! Here's the official cover art for #InTheMorning ... Single drops Friday." In addition to the cover, Lopez dropped a video teaser and a snippet of the song via Twitter. Fans flooded her comments with heart eyes. One wrote, "YES BODY!" Another wrote, "YOU'RE 51.......... IM JEALOUS!" A few celebs hopped in the comments to hype JLo up. Singer Kelly Rowland peeped the huge rock on JLo's finger, commenting, "......with the ring on....." One thing's for certain — this "Ain't Your Mama's" album cover.

Jennifer Lopez received mixed reviews for her controversial AMAs performance

Before releasing her suggestive cover art, Jennifer Lopez turned up the heat a little more with her performance at the 2020 American Music Awards on Nov. 22, 2020. Before the award show aired, the show's production team had concerns about her performance with Maluma being too provocative. The uncertainty of what the Wedding Planner star would bring to the AMAs stage dates back to her 2020 Super Bowl halftime show performance alongside Shakira. The performance reportedly brought in 1,300 complaints to the Federal Communications Commission, as many felt the set was inappropriate for a family show, per NBC.

Fortunately for JLo, her bodysuit and wet hair look while performing "Pa'Ti" and "Lonely" at the AMAs caused no upheaval. However, that did not stop the BeyHive from comparing the sultry segment to Beyoncé's "Drunk In Love" performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards. Fans took to social media to share their frustrations with her performance. One user tweeted, "jlo wanna be beyonce so bad, the thief striked once again." Another wrote, "Not JLo copying even Beyoncé's worst performances. The tributes continue! Dedication!" Both Beyoncé and JLo have yet to comment.
