What Aubrey Plaza Has To Say About A Parks And Recreation Movie

In the years since Parks and Recreation ended its seven-season run, the cast has continued to pop up in big-name movies and acclaimed television series. Amy Poehler has turned much of her attention to working behind the camera, producing acclaimed comedies like Broad City, Difficult People, and Russian Doll. Chris Pratt joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy as Star-Lord. Aubrey Plaza, Pratt's on-screen wife in Parks and Recreation, has likewise cemented herself as a big-screen fixture, starring in films like Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Ingrid Goes West, and The Happiest Season.

Despite the success that the entire cast of Parks and Rec has found since the series ended, fans of the show are still itching for more content from the beloved NBC sitcom. In our current era of rebooting seemingly every show, a Parks and Rec movie doesn't seem too out of the question. But what does the cast think? Aubrey Plaza weighed in.

Aubrey Plaza has some thoughts on the Parks and Recreation movie

While promoting her 2020 film Blackbear, Aubrey Plaza was asked about the possibility of a Parks and Recreation movie by Buzzfeed and her answer was promising, if a bit vague. "No idea. No idea," Plaza said. "Are we done with Parks & Rec? No. Will there be a movie? Yes. Do I know this for sure? No."

Basically, it sounds like Plaza is on board for a Parks and Rec movie, but no plans have been made so far. The actress added that she still talks to her costars all the time, and was even in a "quarantine ladies text chain" with Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, and Kathryn Hahn, who guest-starred frequently in the series' later seasons as Jennifer Barkley. "We've been commiserating and helping each other through these strange times," Plaza shared. "It's been really nice to have them."

Meanwhile, the cast did link up once again in early 2020 for a special socially-distanced episode of Parks and Rec to benefit Feeding America. So while film and television production is definitely a bit weird in 2020 and may be weird for a while, the Parks and Recreation cast sounds like they are more than willing to return to Pawnee once again, just as soon as it's safe to travel.
