Chrissy Teigen Shows Off Her New Piercing

It is a new year and new body adornment for supermodel, chef, and television host Chrissy Teigen. The Lip Sync Battle co-host posted an Instagram video on Jan. 4, 2021, debuting a shiny nose piercing. The decision to get the sexy accessory came after a year fraught with both tragedy and sobriety for the mother of two and her husband, musician John Legend.

To recap, after announcing in August 2020 via Legend's "Wild" music video that they were expecting a third child, Teigen revealed via her Instagram stories in September that she had been hospitalized for excessive bleeding from her placenta, according to People. "It kind of was like you were to turn a faucet on to low and leave it there," Teigen said of the scary ordeal. In a heart-wrenching Instagram post on Sept. 30, 2020, Teigen shared that, despite multiple fluid and blood transfusions, their unborn son, whom they had named Jack, passed that day. In December 2020, Teigen took to Instagram again to share another personal revelation — she has been sober since November after reading the self-help book, Quit Like A Woman. "I was done with making an a– of myself in front of people (I'm still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like sh-t by 6, not being able to sleep," Teigen said in her Instagram stories, per The Los Angeles Times.

It appears 2021 is the time for Teigen to instill new, positive changes, not least of which included her new nose bling. Read on to find out what we know about it.

Second piercing was the charm for Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen's new nose stud marks the second time in less than a month she has had that area pierced. "I did this today, and it immediately fell out and healed the second she left because she did it wrong lmao," Teigen lamented on her Twitter page about the first go on Dec. 28, 2020. She went on, "Like how do you do it wrong? It's a hole, through the nose. It's like Jerry Seinfeld's bobsledding joke. It's impossible to do wrong."

According to Hollywood Life, tattoo and piercing enthusiasts lit up Teigen's Twitter feed at the time with advice and criticisms about her nose jewelry, to which the famously sardonic Tweeter replied, "It's out and healed. You don't have to keep being a-holes. Thanks, I'll do it better next time for you. I promise!! U sweet little angels never cease to surprise me."

In her Jan. 4 Instagram video showing off the new piercing, Teigen, looking tan and happy, tilted her head close to the camera to make sure her followers saw the shimmer of the stone on her nose. Teigen noted triumphantly, "I did it. Second time's a charm." As Hollywood Life reported, Brian Keith Thompson of the renowned Body Electric Tattoo parlor in Hollywood, which has inked and pierced celebs such as Beyoncé and FKA Twigs, was responsible for this successful work.
