The Truth About Selena Gomez's First-Ever Fully Spanish Album REVELACIÓN

Singer and actress Selena Gomez announced she's releasing her first-ever all Spanish album. On Jan. 27, 2021, she took to Twitter to write: "REVELACIÓN, mi primer EP en español, estará disponible el 12 de marzo. Pre-ordénalo mañana a las 9 pm PT. // REVELACIÓN, my first ever Spanish EP, is out March 12. Preorder it tomorrow at 9 pm PT." (FYI: Revelación translates to "revelation" in English.) In addition to being Gomez's first Spanish EP or album, REVELACIÓN will also be the singer's first-ever EP, per Just Jared.

Her big announcement comes shortly after Billie Eilish released her first Spanish track with Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía, perhaps marking a trend in music. REVELACIÓN is a huge milestone of Gomez, who is of Latin decent. In fact, the artist was named after the beloved Spanish icon and late singer Selena Quintanilla, per Entertainment Tonight. Selena Gomez is proud to embrace her Spanish heritage

I hope you love it as much as I do." Going into more detail with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Gomez said, "I'm so, so proud of my heritage," adding that she has been wanting to create a Spanish album for some time now.

"I actually think I sing better in Spanish," the Rare Beauty creator revealed. "That was something I discovered. It was a lot of work, and look, you cannot mispronounce anything. It is something that needed to be precise and needed to be respected by the audience I'm going to release this for."

Gomez added that she felt it was the "perfect timing" to release the project. "You're starting to listen to half-English, half-Spanish on the radio more than ever," she explained. "And it's a really exciting time. And I think that I just hope that people understand how much I put my heart into this, and how amazing I feel about it." We can't wait to hear Gomez's new sound!
