Southern Charm has been a warmly welcomed Bravo staple since its premiere in 2014. The show aims to take viewers into the lavish lives and unavoidable drama of the elite families that have lived in Charleston, S.C. for decades. Now that Southern Charm's seventh season has come to a dramatic close after a fiery two-part finale, fans are wondering if there will be another season to look forward to.

While the Bravo series is generally a hit, its Season 7 ratings were lower than that of Season 6, with Season 6's weekly viewership averaging above one million viewers and Season 7's ratings hovering slightly below that. However, fans have expressed interest in seeing the wealthy, Southern socialites return to the screen with all of their fun antics and head-turning drama.

As of this writing, Bravo has not yet revealed whether or not Southern Charm will be renewed. However, per The Cinemaholic, fans probably shouldn't have to worry about the show getting the axe. So, what are the details for a potential new season of Southern Charm? Keep scrolling to find out everything we know about the projected Southern Charm Season 8 premiere date and cast.

When would 'Southern Charm' Season 8 premiere?

Considering Southern Charm Season 7 ended without a sign of a scheduled premiere date for an eighth season (at least, as of this writing), it's likely that fans may have to wait a bit to see their favorite Southern socialites back on their screens. Plus, as Bustle pointed out, the filming schedule for the hit reality show was completely thrown off by the coronavirus pandemic.

The show was already following an unusual filming schedule by planning for an early 2020 start, rather than its normal fall tape schedule that would lead to its routine spring release. Of course, any show filming in March 2020 — as Southern Charm was – or any show that planned to start filming around the time was halted due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. This likely pushed the Season 7 premiere date of Southern Charm back further, ultimately causing a fall 2020 premiere date.

If Southern Charm is picked up for a new season, taping could begin in spring 2021 for a fall release, or if Bravo wants it to return to its normal shooting schedule, the show could film later in the year for a 2022 release date.

Who would appear on 'Southern Charm' Season 8?

Since Southern Charm Season 7 ended with so much unresolved drama, per Reality Tea, like Leva Bonaparte's relentless feud with Kathryn Dennis and Kathryn's ongoing issues with Danni Baird and Madison LeCroy, there is a chance the cliffhanger ending could be the perfect segue into a new season of the show. As of this writing, no one has publicly stated that they plan to leave the franchise, per The Cinemaholic, so it's likely that members of the main cast would return for another season. In other words, cue the drama.

However, there is a possibility that a familiar face could rejoin the show. Craig Conover told US Weekly in October 2020 that he's hoping to get Cameran Eubanks (who quit after Season 7) back on television screens. "I know that she enjoyed doing it with us, you know, me and her and Shep [Rose] had been together since the beginning," he said. "I have a sneaky feeling that I would be able to get her back next year, but we'll see what happens." Considering he has plans for the future, this is also a strong hint that Southern Charm isn't going anywhere. However, Cameran wrote in her 2021 memoir One Day You'll Thank Me that she is "done with reality TV," per People

While there are no concrete plans for Southern Charm Season 8, it certainly seems that the show would have plenty of juicy material to cover.
