Lamar Odom Has Something To Say About Kim And Kanye Splitting Up

With a divorce reportedly "imminent," it is only a matter of time until friends and family of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West break their silence on the couple's split to lend their support and advice.

Rumors of Kardashian and West's split first began in late 2020, with reports that a trail of marital problems, including West's public breakdown while campaigning for president during summer 2020, led the couple to follow through with a divorce (despite the reality star's delay in filing). Kimye married in 2014 in a private ceremony overlooking Italy. The couple shares four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

The SKIMS owner has reportedly already hired a divorce attorney, and sources say the couple has quit marriage counseling. Although Kardashian has not publicly acknowledged the reports, she hasn't denied them either. E! News previously shared an inside scoop that the Kardashian family is, of course, remaining supportive of their sister and whatever decision she lands on when it comes to her marriage.

But the first of the Kardashian family (well, Kardashian adjacent) to speak out about the divorce is Kim's former brother-in-law Lamar Odom.

Lamar Odom has not spoken to Kanye West as of yet

Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly, former Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom touched on the divorce rumors of his former in-laws, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. "I think it's very important to do the best thing for your mental health and our mental space," said Odom. "If that's the best thing for them, then they have my blessings."

The NBA player is no stranger to breakups himself, having divorced Kim's sister Khloe Kardashian in 2016 after seven on-again off-again years together. At the time of their impending divorce, West offered Odom a helping hand during hid recovery after his near-death experience in 2015. "I haven't been able to speak to him," said Odom about West. "I would love to though [after] what he did for me."

It is unclear how close Odom remains to the Kardashian family, especially given that Khloe Kardashian has moved on with growing her own family with NBA player Tristan Thompson. Regardless, Odom's willingness to return the favor and help West during his time of need speaks volumes.
