Hoechlin resumes his Superman persona with new CW spin-off Superman & Lois. Hoechlin formerly appeared as the Man of Steel in Supergirl, Arrow, and The Flash, according to IMDb. Yet Superman & Lois presents the famed superhero in a new light: as a father to two teen boys and a husband to Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch). "It's really not a show about Superman, it's about a husband and a wife who are parents and the husband happens to be Superman," Hoechlin told The New York Post.
In real life, former professional baseball player Hoechlin is neither a husband or a dad, but he once was a hopeless romantic. "I grew up a romantic, then I became a cynic in my twenties and then realized that sucks. I enjoy waking up in the morning and hoping that we will get there," Hoechlin continued.

Tyler Hoechlin certainly doesn't have to look beyond his sets for romance. Per The Cinemaholic, Hoechlin was linked to Ashlee Simpson and The Vampire Diaries star Candice Accola King before dating Glee dancer Rachele Brooke Smith in 2010. They lasted until 2012, according to Who's Dated Who.
"I've been with my girlfriend for two years. You have to not be afraid to do the little things. You can always send flowers or something like that. My girlfriend and I never let each other forget how much we love each other. It's all about reminding the other person how important and special she is to you," he told Seventeen about Smith, as reported by Meaww.
Following their split, Hoechlin was rumored to be linked to Teen Wolf costar Jill Wagner. Fans were convinced Wagner was the woman behind Hoechlin's perfect date that he teased to Cosmopolitan in 2013. "It was not like a long-term, we're-in-a-relationship thing. Just two days in Hawaii to relax and enjoy the beach. It was incredible," Hoechlin revealed.
Hoechlin then dated Brittany Snow, but the high-profile duo kept it under wraps. Snow told E! in 2015 that she keeps her relationships private to not "lose the magic." Today, Hoechlin is single — but maybe he'll find love on another movie or TV set sometime soon.
