What The Queen Has Been Up To Since Meghan And Harry's Tell-All Interview

On March 7, 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey aired, and it delivered some interesting and oftentimes scandalous pieces of information. Harry and Meghan announced that they would be stepping back from the royal family — along with their son, Archie — in January 2020, and since then, fans have been eagerly waiting to hear more details about their life and subsequent departure as royals. The interview with Oprah definitely provided those missing details, as Meghan and Harry made some shocking claims, including the fact that there were "concerns" about how dark Archie's skin would be before he was born. Harry also gave insight into his tense relationship with his father and brother, Prince Charles and Prince William.

Of course, fans weren't the only ones with the interview on their radar. Queen Elizabeth, Charles, William, and other top royal officials have reportedly been scrambling to figure out how to respond to the interview. In the aftermath of the interview, Buckingham Palace has not released an official statement about it – at least, as of this writing — but the queen hasn't been sitting around waiting for it to all blow over.

Queen Elizabeth allegedly won't sign off on a statement

There have certainly been mixed feelings all-around following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's March 7, 2021, interview with Oprah Winfrey. Fans have applauded Meghan on Twitter for standing up for herself, and many are comparing her to Princess Diana and drawing parallels between how both women were treated by the media. While many people are proud of Harry and Meghan, the same isn't necessarily true at Buckingham Palace.

According to the Daily Mail, royal officials are "paralyzed with horror and dismay" over the interview, and Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William have been "locked in crisis talks" trying to figure out how to respond. As days go by without a statement from the queen, fans are eager to hear what the royal family has to say about the interview, but Queen Elizabeth reportedly doesn't want to rush it.

While, as of this writing, neither the queen nor any other members of the royal family have spoken out about the interview, it's apparently been a hot topic of discussion behind closed palace doors. According to Daily Mail, palace insiders have described the interview as though Harry had "pressed the nuclear bomb on his own family." Only time will tell what Elizabeth, Charles, and William have to say about the interview, though as time keeps ticking, speculation only mounts more and more.
