Greer Grammer's remarkable first name comes from the English actor Greer Garson, who was a huge hit in the 1940s. Garson won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1943 for her role in Mrs. Miniver, per IMDb. This is an impressive namesake!

Grammer mentioned being named after Garson in a tweet on Dec. 5, 2009. "[W]atching a movie w/ Greer Garson in it. [S]he's the actress I was named after. [S]he's absolutely radiant. I can only hope to live up to the name."

Grammer previously spoke about her Hollywood ambitions too. In an interview with the University of Southern California's sorority and fraternity magazine, The Odyssey, from January 2012, Grammer said, "I grew up on sets and wanted to go into the family business. As a kid, I would always dress up and felt a need for acting."

Grammer, who's an alum of USC, shared her dreams with the outlet: "I would love to someday see a poster saying 'Starring Greer Grammer,' but it's okay if that doesn't happen. I just love acting and hope to be able to work a lot." Honestly, it looks like those dreams are coming true!

Inside Greer Grammer's love of Hollywood

Like Olivia Culpo and Gal Gadot, Greer Grammer got her start in beauty pageants. In 2008 and 2009, Grammer won Miss Teen Malibu, according to The Odyssey, and went on to win Miss Regional California Teen USA in 2011.

In 2015, Grammer served as Miss Golden Globe, something that was right up her alley. "I really fangirl out over Reese Witherspoon. I'm afraid I'll freak out and possibly cry if she wins for 'Wild,'" she told WWD at the time. The highly-coveted Miss Golden Globe gig was, of course, a wonderful chance for exposure, as Grammer hoped the opportunity would help her land movie roles. Since Awkward, the TV series she was starring in, was facing its last season in 2015, Grammer joked of her Golden Globes role: "Hi, it's my show's last season, give me a job. Starting in June I'll be available."

But Grammer made a special wardrobe choice, opting for a muted palette in the form of a strapless, neutral dress (pictured above). Why? She did not want to steal the spotlight from the winners that evening. While Grammer had hopes for her future plans, she was not going to overshine.

Who is Greer Grammer dating?

She shared a very cute photo of the two of them at Disneyland to celebrate Ankrim's birthday in 2015 via Instagram. They broke up later that same year, according to The Cinemaholic.

I loved everything that Oliver did for the show. He was so crazy, but it was those episodes that were some of the best of the series.
