Proof Kel Mitchell Is A Total Foodie - Exclusive
Kel Mitchell has been gracing our screens since the '90s when he appeared on Nickelodeon's hit TV shows All That and Kenan & Kel, and in the always iconic movie Good Burger. Now, Mitchell is back thanks to Season 2 of MTV's Deliciousness, and it's clear that the comedian was hired as a panelist because he's a total foodie at heart. Alongside fellow panelists Angela Kinsey (The Office) and internet personality Tim Chantarangsu, as well as host Tiffani Thiessen of Saved by the Bell fame, Mitchell comments on the internet's funniest food-related viral videos, and the entire team seems to have a blast doing it.
As well as keeping busy with a whole host of TV and movie projects, Mitchell is a dedicated family man, and a pastor at Spirit Food Christian Center. Somehow, he still finds time to cook, and is passionate about a variety of tasty-sounding dishes. Nicki Swift caught up with Mitchell to discuss Season 2 of Deliciousness and find out what makes him such a foodie.
Kel Mitchell's cooking is inspired by his hometown
Kel Mitchell is seemingly a perfect fit for MTV's Deliciousness, which returned for its second season in March 2021. On the series, which is a spin-off of MTV's Ridiculousness, Mitchell watches and comments on the best viral videos from the internet, all of which are food-related. For that reason, it's easy to assume that the comedian must be a big fan of food, as he gets the chance to use his expertise on the hilarious MTV show.
Speaking to Nicki Swift about his favorite culinary indulgences, Mitchell explained, "I love food. I grew up in a family that loves to barbecue, so we love barbecuing, especially when we have everyone over, so I like to grill." The All That star is also influenced by his hometown when it comes to cooking. "And then also too, I'm from Chicago, so I love some soul food," he revealed. "And then I also love, of course, my deep dish pizza, Chicago style hoagies, Garrett's popcorn, Chicago-style hot dogs, all that stuff that we do in Chicago that is so awesome."
Good Burger fans will surely be delighted to find out that Mitchell is a total star in the kitchen in real life.
