Jada Pinkett Smith Opens Up About Her Attraction To Other Women

Jada Pinkett Smith's love life was dissected under a microscope after singer August Alsina revealed in a June 2020 interview with Angela Yee that he had a relationship with Jada while she was still married to Will Smith. After claiming that he gets "nauseous" from drama and sees the Smith clan as his own family, Alsina stated that he "actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from [his and Jada's] marriage to life partnership" and that Will gave him "his blessing" to date his wife. Will and Jada have since denied that Will gave Alsina his blessing.

Despite Jada's representatives originally claiming Alsina's statements as false (via Page Six), the Girls Trip actor admitted that she at one point was in an "entanglement" with the singer on a very intimate episode of Red Table Talk in July 2020. She said what started as a friendship turned into much more, but vehemently denied that Alsina is any sort of "homewrecker" because while still married, she and Will were separated at the time. She explained that she was able to "realize certain things" about herself and Will, which helped them solidify their relationship and come together in a "new place of unconditional love."

Less than a year after the tear-filled Red Table Talk episode between Jada and Will, Jada's love life is being analyzed again. This time, it's because she opened up about her attraction to other women. Keep scrolling to learn what she had to say.

Jada Pinkett Smith has been 'infatuated' with a woman before

In the March 31, 2021 episode of Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith openly shared with her daughter Willow Smith and mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris (also known as "Gammy") that she has been attracted to women in the past. "I love being amongst women, but I never could connect to women romantically — but that's not to say that it couldn't be, like you just never know," Jada said. While she has never been in love with a woman, she says she has been "infatuated" with a woman two times in her life around the age of "like 20."

In response, Willow, who was 20 years old at the time of the episode, revealed she has experienced similar feelings. "I've had my fair share of like swooning and thinking: 'Oh my god, she's so beautiful! She's so talented!'" she explained. "I don't feel like I've been in love with a woman just yet, but I definitely feel like it could happen because I've had very strong feelings for women before," the "Whip My Hair" singer continued.

Willow admitted on the show in 2019 that she does not believe monogamy is for her and that she could see herself being attracted to both a man and woman at the same time. "Monogamy ... I feel actually inhibits you from learning those skills of evolving past those feelings of insecurity," she said. "I would definitely want one man, one woman," she continued.
