Deadliest Catch: Who Is Sig Hansen's Wife, June?

You may recognize captain Sig Hansen, real name Sigurd Johnny Hansen, from the Discovery channel's Deadliest Catch, especially since he's been tackling the high seas on-camera since 2005. Known for reeling in the crabs aboard the Northwestern, he's also become a favorite among reality TV fans, especially as he started to share more of his personal life on screen.

In July 2019, the father of two revealed his wife of over 20 years, June Hansen, had a "form of cancer" during the season 15 finale, per Country Living. "We do know that this area on her neck is cancer, we just don't know if there's more."

The episode ended with June's prognosis in the balance, but just two months later she was reportedly "doing fine," a spokesperson for Discovery told Country Living, adding, she "was lucky to catch it early." In September 2019, the couple attended the 71st Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater, and June was seen looking gorgeous as she stepped onto the red carpet to be by her man's side. Just like her husband, June definitely sounds like a force of nature. Keep scrolling for more details about Sig Hansen's wife, June.

June Hansen is one proud mama

Although we don't know too much about June Hansen, we do know she is a loving mother to her and Sig Hansen's adopted daughters Nina and Mandy, who both seem to love the high seas just like their daddy, per Amo Mama. However, June makes sure to have some passions of her own.

Asides from her many appearances on her husband's show, June seems to be getting into show business herself. According to IMDb, the mom worked as a makeup artist on the set of the film John Taylor's Prom Date, which is slated to be released in May 2022.

But while June may be stepping out on her own, it's clear her family is still her No. 1 priority. Her daughter Mandy often gushes about her mama on social media for always standing by her side. "Love you mommy more than you'd ever know," she wrote on an Instagram selfie of the duo shared in May 2020. Later in October, Mandy posted a photo of her parents with her nephew Jaxsen, and from the look of June's smile, clearly, nothing makes her happier than her family.
