Inside Christina Haack's Struggles With Autoimmune Diseases

HGTV star Christina Haack has her hands full. From her two home renovation shows, "Flip or Flop" and "Christina on the Coast," to her three kids, Taylor, 10, Brayden, 5, and 18-month-old Hudson — as well as her two dogs, Cash and Biggie (per HGTV) — the star does it all.

Along with balancing her personal and professional responsibilities, Christina's also juggling co-parenting with her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, dealing with his fiancé Heather Rae Young, and all the drama with her soon-to-be ex-husband Ant Anstead. Ant, by the way, still has not responded to her divorce petition — we are sure he has his reasons, but dude, come on!

In other words, Christina has enough on her plate. You can't blame her for wanting to take a break from dating to focus on herself and her kids. But it turns out Christina is also dealing with several autoimmune diseases, as well. Keep reading to find out which ones and how she's doing.

Christina Haack was diagnosed with two autoimmune disorders

In January 2020, Christina Haack sat down for an Instagram Live video with then-husband Ant Anstead. In the video, which has since been deleted, she opened up about battling two autoimmune diseases while parenting a newborn and two other kids. Someone in the comments section asked Christina which conditions she had, per House Beautiful.

Christina told her audience that she has been diagnosed with Hashimoto's — a thyroid disease — and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She also said her skin flares up when she eats certain foods and mentioned that the bodies of women with autoimmune disorders often go into shock after having babies.

Christina manages her conditions with supplements. In the video, she said, "Supplements are key for me to feeling my best. I take a ton of supplements and [NatureWise] is my go-to brand. This brand reflects my healthy lifestyle — their supplements are clean, all-natural, gluten-free, and non-GMO. They also ensure all their ingredients are organically and sustainably sourced whenever possible," per PopSugar. We are happy to know that Christina seemingly has her health concerns under control!
