Ben Affleck Makes First Red Carpet Appearance Since Rehab

Ben Affleck surprised everyone by making an appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Nev.

E! News reports that the Batman v Superman (2016) star arrived at the event on March 29, 2017, donning a sharp blue suit and green tie. He was joined by his Justice League (2017) castmates Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, and Henry Cavill.

On March 14, 2017, as reported by Nicki Swift, the 44-year-old actor revealed that he's battling alcoholism and had entered rehab. "I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront," he wrote in a post to Facebook.

The Oscar winner continued, "I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be. I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step. I'm lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I've done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery."

Affleck had previously admitted himself into rehab in 2001. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in 2012, Affleck reflected on his earlier treatment, stating, "I went to rehab for being 29 and partying too much and not having a lot of boundaries and to clear my head and try to get some idea of who I wanted to be."

Hopefully, his second stint in a treatment center has helped Affleck regain his sense of self.

At least, through it all, Affleck has had the support of his family. While he's still separated from wife Jennifer Garner, the 13 Going on 30 (2004) actress has called off their divorce, reportedly in an effort to work the their marriage.
