Who Is Drake's Mom?

The highly anticipated "Certified Lover Boy" album is finally here, and rapper Drake (birth name Aubrey Drake Graham), clearly has a lot to celebrate. This is Drake's sixth studio album and fans all over the globe had been waiting for him to let the album out of his vault ever since he first announced its creation in August 2020. Drake was supposed to release "CLB" in January, but it was pushed back due to a knee injury he needed surgery and rehab for.

"I was planning to release my album this month," Drake posted on his Instagram Story, per NME. "But between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery. I'm blessed to be back on my feet, feeling great and focused on the album, but 'CLB' won't be dropping in January."

Fans are raving about Drake's new album, and also comparing it to Kanye West's new work, "Donda."  They're also quickly dissecting all the lyrics on "Certified Lover Boy" and what women or romances he may be hinting about. Regardless, none of them hold a candle to the main lady in his life, who took time to write a sweet letter for him before the album's release: his mom. Keep reading to learn about Drake's mother.

Drake's mom showed her love in a series of letters

Drake clearly isn't the only person in his family who knows how to write a rhyme or two. His mother, Sandi Graham, who raised him, per The Sun, penned heartfelt letters to Drake ahead of the release of "Certified Lover Boy" to celebrate all her son's hard work and dedication. "It's finally come, the countdown has reached one, with each new album my heart skips a beat, being your mother has been my life's greatest treat," Graham wrote in her last letter, per People. "It's been a long hard road together, now there's one more day to go. I wanna celebrate you son, more than you'll ever know. Love you more now and forever," she continued. How sweet!

Drake has dedicated numerous verses to his mother, like the famous lyrics from his 2018 hit, "God's Plan." In the song, he sings, "She say, 'Do you love me?' I tell her, 'Only partly, only love my bed and my mama, I'm sorry,'" per Genius. So, it was only fitting that his mom, a former florist and English teacher, would return the favor.

Drake's son is a carbon copy of his grandmother

We can't stop gushing over all the heartfelt lovey-dovey feelings Drake's family has for one another. Drake's mother isn't the only person he likes to dedicate his songs to, as he also mentions his son, Adonis, in multiple songs on "Certified Lover Boy." Many people, including fans and celebrities, are equally shocked and in awe at how much Adonis resembles Sandi Graham.

Rapper 50 Cent has even acknowledged the remarkable resemblance between the two: "Drake had his mom a grand baby for real, her genes are strong," the rapper said on Instagram in 2020. "I bet she is so happy he looks like her." While Graham hasn't said anything publicly about her grandson, it's likely that she has just as much love for him and she does for her own son.

Drake had Adonis with artist and video vixen, Sophie Brussaux, in 2017, but it wasn't always smooth sailing for this lover boy and lover girl. Drake had to come to terms with having a child after only meeting with Brussaux twice, as explained in his song "F*cking Fans" on "CLB." In the song, he raps, "I had a kid even though I never planned to," per Genius. Drake pours his lover boy heart out about his son, his baby momma, his past lovers, his current beefs, and more on "CLB," and we're happy to see his mom supporting him along the way.
