Experience

Gabrielle LaRochelle is a writing chameleon. There is no beat she will not undertake. Gabrielle has traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to assist in a documentary on favelas, sex workers, and Brazilian students trying to navigate living under President Bolsonaro's regime. She also traveled to different islands in Indonesia to conduct scientific studies and create academic papers on biodiversity and natural resource conservation. In America, Gabrielle wrote over 200 articles for lifestyle, health + wellness, beauty, fashion, politics, etc. as a freelancer, a media ambassador for Girls for Gender Equity, and during her time as an intern at Galore Magazine. She is now a freelance writer at Nicki Swift, and a full-time Editorial Assistant at iOne Digital Media, where she recently produced her first cover story.

Education

Gabrielle LaRochelle went to The New School: Eugene Lang in New York City, NY, for her undergraduate degree and received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism + Design & Global Studies with a minor in Race and Ethnicity. She will also receive her graduate degree at Université de Paris CITE in Paris, France, where she will receive a Master of Arts degree in History and Civilization. The intersectionality of race and history occur and often are referred to globally within all facets of media, including pop culture and celebrity media. Gabrielle believes her multiple degrees will help her approach any topic thoughtfully and carefully while still keeping the fun, upbeat tone that Nicki Swift is known for.
