Are Alec Baldwin And Brooke Baldwin Related?
Alec Baldwin is one of the most prominent figures in the entertainment industry, and that's not simply because of some of the headlines he's made or the controversies that often surround him. It's because he's been in the business for nearly four decades and comes from a family full of famous names, which include his brothers, Stephen Baldwin, William Baldwin, and Daniel Baldwin. He's also expanded his branch of the Baldwin family tree with seven kids of his own: his daughter Ireland with his ex-wife Kim Basinger, and his six children — Carmen, Leonardo, Eduardo, Lucia, Rafael and Romeo — with his current wife, Hilaria Baldwin. Speaking to The Guardian in an interview, Alec said that he makes his family his first priority in his life. "There's, like, a sacred part of the day between 5pm and 7pm, when we don't do anything but be with the kids. Feed them. Bathe them. It takes time. There's so many of them... Which sounds insane, right? It is insane. Let's face it. It's insane," he said.
And while the Baldwins sure do command a lot of attention, there's another Baldwin on television that a lot of people cannot help but wonder is related to the one and only Alec: former CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin. After all, they do share the same famous last name. Here's what you need to know.
Brooke Baldwin's connection to Alec Baldwin revealed
On paper, it might not seem like Alec Baldwin and Brooke Baldwin have a lot in common, but they actually do. Both are well-known television personalities in their respective fields. That, and Brooke once participated in a "Saturday Night Live" skit with Alec and Cecily Strong to parody Donald Trump's infamous "Access Hollywood" tape, in which he was heard making suggestive advances towards women. Speaking to NBC News in an interview, Brooke also hinted that, just like Alec, she wasn't much of a fan of the former president. She said, "I was in the presidential motorcade, balancing on the back of this flatbed truck, as newly-elected President Trump's winding his way down Constitution Avenue and going to the White House for the first time. And listen, I'll just be real with you: It was only very recent to that date when we learned where President Trump liked to grab women. And as a woman, as a journalist, I was standing there and I was troubled. I didn't know what the next four years was going to look like."
With that said, it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that Alec and Brooke are actually related, and not just because they share the similar disdain for one person.
Brooke Baldwin's special connection to Alec Baldwin
According to Brooke Baldwin's IMDb page, she's a distant cousin of the Baldwin brothers, which of course includes Alec Baldwin. But the Baldwins are not the only famous cousins that share her same bloodline. It also happens to be that she's related to actors Matt Bomer and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, too. Brooke has never really spoken about her connection to Alec or any of the other famous names in her family tree, and neither has Alec mentioned anything about the journalist. With that said, the actor did say one time that he wanted to hold the highest office of the land. He told Interview Magazine in 1989, "I wanted to be president of the United States. I really did. The older I get, the less preposterous the idea seems."
One can only imagine what Brooke would have to say about a President Baldwin or if she would participate in a "Saturday Night Live" parody at his expense — right?
