Inside Kristopher Brock's Marriage Before Dating Kaitlynn Carter

Kaitlynn Carter is settling into motherhood with her beau Kristopher Brock. "The Hills: New Beginnings" star announced her pregnancy with their first child together with an adorable baby bump photo back in June. Carter showed off the couple's "chunky little guy," Rowan Carter Brock, on Instagram shortly after his arrival on September 30.

Prior to settling down with the fashion designer in 2020, Carter has been a part of a few high-profile relationships, per People. Carter had a long term relationship with Caitlyn Jenner's son and fellow "The Hills" co-star Brody Jenner. In 2019, Carter and Jenner split about a year after they shared an intimate wedding ceremony in Indonesia, although their union was never officially legal in the U.S., according to Daily Mail.

Following her breakup with Jenner, the reality star famously had a fling with singer Miley Cyrus. Their romance was short-lived, and the two parted ways after only weeks of dating in 2019. "Basically after Miley and I went our separate ways, I thought, 'Okay, my life's just kinda going back to the way it normally was ...'" Carter said during an Instagram Live, per Entertainment Tonight.

Carter ultimately found love again in Brock, and the couple now looks overjoyed on social media. Although Carter may be known for her dating past, Brock has a history of his own. Here's a look inside Brock's marriage before he dated the "Hills" star.

Kristopher Brock was previously married to fashion designer Laura Vassar. According to AmoMama, Vassar and Brock met while they were both studying at Parsons School of Design. "He had tattoos, he was the only male in the program, and he kept getting closer and closer to my desk," Vassar said of meeting Brock in an interview with Glossier's Into The Gloss. "He finally asked, 'Is it OK if we work on my project for a few hours, and then work on yours for a few hours?'" The two quickly became a team and went on to launch the Brock Collection fashion line together in 2014.

The same year, the couple wed in a gorgeous ceremony at Vassar's family's summer home in Newport Beach, per Vogue. According to the outlet, Brock and Vassar kept their nuptials a surprise to guests, who anticipated attending an engagement party for the two. Their wedding wasn't the only big reveal that evening. "We served a classic surf-and-turf dinner, and during dessert, we announced that I was expecting a baby boy, due in December," Vassar told Vogue. As announced, the couple welcomed their son Charlie Wright Brock in December 2014, per Us Weekly. Brock's marriage with Vassar came to an end when she filed for divorce in Orange County Superior Court in April 2019, according to Social Life Chicago.

Beyond his divorce from Laura Vassar, Kristopher Brock's love life has been relatively quiet. Months before Vassar filed for divorce, Brock was briefly linked to actor Amber Heard, per Heavy. The two stars were photographed together in 2018 on a dinner date in Beverly Hills, according to a report by the​​ Daily Mail. The outlet also reported the fashion designer was seen cozying up with the actor in an NYC bar around the same time.

Brock connected with Kaitlynn Carter in May 2020 through mutual friends, per Us Weekly. Carter revealed in a one-year anniversary tribute post to Brock that their first date was delayed a day due to the dedicated dad having plans with his son.

It seems Brock's low-key and family-oriented vibe was just what Carter was looking for. She told the Scrubbing In podcast her pairing with Brock was "the most seamless, chill relationship" after the media circus around her romance with Brody Jenner. "I've never had a relationship that was just easy, and I don't want to put anybody else down, but I feel like he's the first adult I've ever dated," Carter said of Brock. "He's more mature than me by far."
