How Tall Is Kanye West?
Kanye West is so protective of his image that he issued a stern warning about Netflix's "Jeen-Yuhs" documentary when he reportedly wasn't given access to the edit room so he could get the final edit and approval on the doc. But then again, Ye is the kind of person who almost never smiles in photos because he wants to look like all the "cool" men did back in the 1800s, per the Daily Mail. While presenting an award in 2015 at the Daily Front Row's Fashion Los Angeles Awards, the rapper put it this way: "Back when I was working on Yeezus, I saw this book from the 1800s and it was velvet-covered with brass and everything. I looked at all these people's photos and they look so real and their outfits were incredible and they weren't smiling and people, you know the paparazzi, always come up to me, 'Why you not smiling?' and I think, not smiling makes me smile."
With the lack of facial expressions put aside, a lot of Ye's fans also can't help but wonder just how tall he is, seeing how he often stands so tall whenever he's around his family, his friends, and his collaborators. The answer is actually quite surprising.
Some might be surprised at West's height
According to Celeb Heights, Kanye "Ye" West is 5'8", which might come as a surprise, seeing how he always takes command of each room he's in. That, and all eyes are always on him — whether it's because of the masks that he wears in public, per Page Six, or because of his feud with Peppa Pig. Either way, it's safe to say that Ye is a celebrity who always gets a lot of attention, for better or for worse.
According to his friend Tony Robbins, Ye's larger-than-life persona is mostly because of his self-confidence — or at least a renewed faith in it. Recalling the first time that he met Robbins, Ye told The New York Times in 2018, "He could look at me and you know, he could tell that I was very low. Really medicated, shoulders slumped down, and my confidence was gone, which is a lot of the root of my superpower, because if you truly have self-confidence, no one can say anything to you."
While it may seem like the father-of-four has put in a lot of work in trying to be the best version of himself, Kanye's estranged wife Kim Kardashian also credits him for bringing out the best in her for this reason, too.

Speaking to ET in 2018, Kim Kardashian credited Kanye "Ye" West for teaching her the importance of believing in yourself. She put it this way, stating, "He is so confident ... He would always build up my confidence to be who I want to be, and so I'll voice my opinion when I think there's something that is maybe done wrong — or even if the messaging is right [and] the communication isn't quite there to figure that out."
For the record, Kim is 5'2", which doesn't qualify her as one of the tallest celebrities out there, but that doesn't seem to matter. Both Kim and Ye have learned how to stand tall, look straight in the camera, and go after what they want while also reaching their goals — both personally and professionally speaking. Now that's a reason for their four children — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm — to stand tall and be proud of their parents.
