Ed Sheeran Approves Of Taylor Swift's Boyfriend Joe Alwyn

Ed Sheeran has given his bestie's new boyfriend his stamp of approval.

According to E! News, the "Shape of You" singer-songwriter opened up about Taylor Swift's new romance with British actor Joe Alwyn during his interview on Capital Breakfast on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017.

"He's really nice. Really, really friendly, really good dude," Sheeran said of the Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk star. "We're in touch, quite a fair bit, you know, and she's been in London quite a bit as well." 

Sheeran also dished on Swift's upcoming album, Reputation, which will hit shelves on Friday, Nov. 10. "The songs are great," the "Thinking Out Loud" Grammy winner said of her new output. "I think people will like the album."

Swift, who was previously linked with record producer Calvin Harris, recently released the third single off her sixth studio album, the love ballad "Gorgeous." With lyrics like, "You're so gorgeous/ I can't say anything to your face/ 'Cause look at your face/ And I'm so furious/ At you for making me feel this way/ But what can I say?/ You're gorgeous," some fans suspect the song may have been written about Alwyn.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, the BFFs first met after Swift, 27, heard Sheeran's song "Lego House." After collaborating on "Everything Has Changed," the mega pop star invited him to perform as the opening act on her Red Tour in 2012. 

Sheeran, who was recently forced to cancel his upcoming tour dates due to arm injuries sustained in a bicycle accident, has had Swift's back ever since. "She would be there if everything ended for me," the 26-year-old told Rolling Stone in March 2017. "Taylor is kind of an anomaly in that sense. She's omnipresent because she's the most famous woman in the world, so she can't make the decision to not be in the press. I always stick up for Taylor."
