Is Gavin Casalegno From The Summer I Turned Pretty Dating Anyone?

Fans of Amazon Prime's "The Summer I Turned Pretty" adaptation are just as invested in Gavin Casalegno's real-life romance as they are in his character's relationship woes. Onscreen, Casalegno plays Jeremiah Fisher, who's embroiled in a drama-filled love triangle between Isabel Conklin (Lola Tung) and his brother, Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney). In real life, however, the 22-year-old actor is fresh out of a six-year relationship with actor, dancer, and TikTok star Larsen Thompson.

During happier times, Casalegno posted Thompson a sweet 18th birthday tribute to Instagram and called himself the "Jack to his Rose" and the "Romeo to his Juliet, adding, "I wouldn't be the same without you! Thank you for everything you have done for me and for everyone. You are such an inspiration and excellent role model." Unfortunately, their relationship is now over, according to an August 11, 2022, exclusive report by J-14.

Prior to J-14's confirmation, which cited an anonymous source, the former couple's lack of social media activity and public events prompted fans and even outlets such as US Weekly and Extra TV to speculate that all was not right in paradise. Despite J-14's report, neither star has made an official statement about their relationship. Unfortunately, for the social media-loving young couple, their relationship is well documented across the internet.

Gavin Casalegno's and Larsen Thompson's relationship timeline

According to Gavin Casalegno, he started dating Larsen Thompson the week before her 16th birthday. This puts their relationship start date around the first week in November 2016 (via Seventeen).

Like so many other Gen Z couples, the pair met through social media. During a 2018 YouTube video, Larsen spilled all of the deets about their first meeting. "We chat with a mutual photographer, and the next week, Gavin and I are shooting with her, and she's like, 'Oh, my God, you have to meet this person," said Thompson, adding, "So, I went onto her photos and saw a picture of Gavin, so I liked it, he saw my like and came onto my Instagram, and he slid into my DMs."

Soon after, Casalegno and Thompson went "Instagram official" and were often spotted at various public events — often in fashion-forward outfits. Throughout the years, the young couple has also made frequent appearances on each other's popular social media channels, where they often waxed poetic about each other. Unfortunately, the Insta-PDA came to an abrupt halt in April 2022; since then, neither star has posted about the other on their social media channels.

Public displays of love weren't the only way the couple showed their affection. According to Casalegno (via Seventeen), the "most elaborate gesture" he ever made was to Thompson, when he shelled out cash for a plane ticket to surprise her for her 16th birthday, despite only dating a week.

Larsen Thompson's career

Even though Larsen Thompson's relationship with Gavin Casalegno may be over now, the rising star still has plenty of other things going for herself. Like Casalegno, who enjoyed roles in "The Vampire Diaries" and "Walker" prior to joining "The Summer I Got Pretty," Larsen is an actor and bonafide TikTok celebrity.

Thompson got her start in 2015 when videos of her and Taylor Hatala dancing to popular artists like Big Sean and Beyoncé went viral on YouTube. Her choreographed routine to Beyonce's "Run The World (Girls)" even garnered attention from Queen Bey herself. The energetic video caught Beyoncé's eye, prompting her to repost it to her Facebook account, where it racked up over eight million views.

In the years since, Larsen has transitioned to TikTok, where she boasts 1.2 million followers. She's also appeared in projects such as Sia's "The Greatest" music video and "The Spongebob Movie: Sponge On The Run." Plus, Larsen has also modeled for Maybelline, Tommy Hilfiger, and Dior (via Coveteur). And even though she's only getting started, Larsen credits her success to her early days on YouTube. "The platform enabled us to reach an audience and have a message that is powerful and strong, and we were passionate about. It was such an amazing experience and something that kickstarted everything for me, including social media."

As of August 2022, Larsen has two roles in post-production, per IMDB, so it's safe to say you haven't seen the last of her.
