RHOC Alum Kelly Dodd's Husband Rick Leventhal Survives Grisly Crash
Rick Leventhal is in the hospital recovering after surviving a harrowing car crash.
"So lucky to be alive & grateful for the well wishes & care I'm getting. 4 broken ribs, fractured bone right foot, wounded pride. So far that's it," the former Fox News correspondent penned on Instagram along with a video of him describing the accident in detail. "I hydroplaned heading east on 410, about 40 minutes outside of Palm Desert, just straight away hit what felt like a patch of ice," he recounted. "It was just water or whatever." As you may recall, Southern California has been plagued with heavy rain in recent weeks, even prompting some areas to evacuate.
Later, Leventhal's wife and former "Real Housewives of Orange County" star Kelly Dodd also took to social media to request prayers for her hubby. "There will be no smash tomorrow on @youtube the rick and kelly show," Dodd began, referencing the couple's YouTube channel. "My husband got in a horrible car accident. He is in the ER.. please say prayers for @rickleventhal," she pleaded in the emotional post.
Rick Leventhal has been met with a flurry of support
As one can imagine, news of Rick Leventhal's frightening car accident traveled fast, and fans and celebrities alike flooded both Leventhal and Kelly Dodd's Instagram accounts with their support and well wishes.
"Omg Rick! I'm so glad you're ok! Sending prayers," former "Real Housewives of Orange County" cast member Meghan King penned. Meanwhile, stand-up comedian and pop culture podcaster Heather McDonald wrote on Instagram, "So scary. Just rest is all you can do." But that's not all. Dodd's on-again-off-again pal and self-professed OG of the OC Vicki Gunvalson also wished Leventhal a speedy recovery. "So scary what happened to Rick. Thank God he wasn't hurt more than this. Praying he will recover soon. Keep us posted," she penned in the comments section under Dodd's Instagram post.
Leventhal, himself, also offered up a few words in the comments section of his wife's Instagram post. "Honestly I'm lucky to be alive. Scariest moments of my life. This makes everything even more meaningful," he wrote along with a red heart emoji.
