Why Sandra Bullock Has No Plans To Get Married To Bryan Randall
Sandra Bullock is one of the few celebrities who fans don't judge based on her red carpet date. She rarely brings her lovers to public spaces anyway, and she's not one to let other people interfere with her personal life. Bullock may be one of the industry's favorite leading ladies and romance actors on screen, but she goes the extra mile to keep her love life under wraps off-screen. Well, save for the handful of instances when she was romantically involved with fellow actors Tate Donovan, and Ryan Gosling — remember when those two were an item? The 58-year-old has only been married once — from 2005 to 2010 — to West Coast Choppers founder Jesse James, but that turned out to be fraught with controversy, as James was later caught cheating on the actor with multiple women. "I cheated on my wife. Guess what? So do millions of other men," he told Men's Journal in 2011.
The good news is that Bullock found love again in 2015 when it was reported that she started dating professional photographer Bryan Randall. "Bryan makes her feel safe and completely takes care of her," an insider shared with Us Weekly a few years later. "[He's her] rock." While all seems fine and dandy with their relationship, it doesn't look like they'll tie the knot soon — or maybe ever.
Has Sandra Bullock sworn off marriage completely?
It seems Sandra Bullock's previous marriage had such a massive impact on her that she doesn't see herself getting hitched to Bryan Randall in the foreseeable future. In fact, whenever engagement or marriage-related rumors arise, Bullock's team is quick to shut them down. "Sandra Bullock is not engaged and there is no wedding. There's no truth at all in those rumors," her camp clarified to People in 2016, and again in 2018, saying, "They are not married."
While Bullock refers to Randall as "the love of my life," she told Red Table Talk she doesn't feel the immediate desire to formalize their romance. It's just a piece of paper, after all. "I am someone who went through the divorce process," she explained. "I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children — three children, his older daughter. It's the best thing ever. So, I don't want to say do it like I do it, but I don't need a paper to be a devoted partner or a devoted mother," she said. The "Ocean's 8" star added, "I don't need to be told to be ever-present in the hardest of times. I don't need to be told to weather a storm with a good man."
Besides, they act like they're married anyway, with a source telling Closer Weekly: "Sometimes they sit back and laugh because they look at their lives and they feel like an old married couple," they said. "They're set in their ways, and content."
Sandra Bullock is making motherhood her priority
Perhaps a contributing factor to Sandra Bullock's hesitancy to marry again is that motherhood is her top priority. Back when she split with Jesse James, she had just brought her adopted son, Louis, home, and she did everything in her power to not let the divorce affect him. "How do you process grief and not hurt your child in the process? It's a newborn," she explained in an interview with CBS. "They take on everything that you're feeling. So my obligation was to him and not tainting the first year of his life with my grief." It's likely she doesn't want the same thing to happen now on the off chance it doesn't work out with Bryan Randall.
Bullock is taking motherhood so seriously that she has recently chosen to step back from the spotlight to be a full-time mom. "I want to be at home ... I was always running, I was always running to the next thing. I just want to be present and responsible for one thing," she told Entertainment Tonight. Now that she's looking after two children (she adopted her daughter, Laila, in 2015), all she wants to do is give them 100% of her attention. "I need to be in the place that makes me happiest. I take my job very seriously when I'm at work, and it's [a 24/7 commitment]" she added. "And I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family."
