Selma Blair Reveals She's Two Years Sober

Selma Blair just reached a major milestone.

On Friday, June 22, 2018, the Legally Blonde star took to Instagram to celebrate two years of sobriety.

"2 years sober. 2 years feeling everything and nothing. 2 years of extreme gratitude and humility and grace," the actress wrote alongside a snapshot of herself sitting in front of a birthday cake, just one day before she turns 46. "I thank the lord and my friends. Thank you for the most special birthday week @fran.anania #amypines #arthursaintbleick."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Blair had landed herself in the hospital in late June 2016 following a mid-flight outburst after mixing prescription medication with wine. "I made a big mistake yesterday," she wrote in an apologetic statement the next day. "After a lovely trip with my son [Arthur] and his dad [ex Jason Bleick], I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret."

While the Cruel Intentions star's journey toward sobriety in the two years since has had its share of ups and downs, she added in her recent post, "I prayed for a miracle at my lowest points. I am a living miracle. Thank you. Thank you. #birthdaygirl #almost46 #summersolstice #grace."

Blair, who candidly opened up about her longtime struggle with depression, anxiety, and alcoholism on Instagram last month, recently made headlines over conflicting statements on whether her former Sweetest Thing co-star Cameron Diaz had retired from acting. At the time of this writing, it remains unknown whether the duo will ever reunite with fellow co-star Christina Applegate for a follow-up sequel to their 2002 movie. However, here's hoping Blair will reprise her role as Vivian Kensington in the recently announced Legally Blonde 3.
