It was rap heaven on earth when Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti started dating. First there's Iggy Azalea, the Australian rap goddess who stands at 5-feet-10-inches, according to LA Weekly, who has had a successful, if somewhat tumultuous career worldwide. Then there's Playboi Carti, an Atlanta native who convinced Azalea to move to his hometown from Los Angeles, according to Fader. The couple met in 2018 and, three months after they started dating, Carti talked her into jetting from the West Coast to the East Coast, per the outlet.

The couple has a six-year age gap, with Azalea in the lead, born on July 7, 1990, according to the Daily Mail and while this clearly isn't a problem for them, they seem to get trolled frequently, especially Azalea. The Australian rapper has certainly had her fair share of public feuds throughout her career and while the two have remained together, Carti and Azalea have lived through some drama along the way as a couple. They're certainly not shy to add a bit of spice to life!

Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea won't make music together

Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Terrel Carter, first met Iggy Azalea, whose real name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly, in 2018, according to People. It happened while Carti was overseas on tour and in an interview with Fader, Carti spoke about what it was like to be in the early stages of a relationship with Azalea: "Once I started talking to her, I just cut off everybody. It was over with."

Azalea moved to Atlanta, where Carti grew up, but it was a nostalgic return for her too. According to Fader, it's the city where her music career first took off. Despite the fact that they are both prolific rappers, they keep their relationship personal. They've never made music together and have no intention of doing so, as Carti said: "That's a whole 'nother thing.' I support everything she does."

While they won't make music together, they were very happy setting up a home together. According to Fader, Azalea decorated their Atlanta home, with Carti proudly showing off the house saying, "I ain't do all this, that was her."

Iggy Azalea squashes breakup rumors

In January 2020, Iggy Azalea took advantage of Instagram to clarify her relationship status, according to TMZ. In late December 2019, the Australian rapper confused fans by stating, "I'm single," on social media. However, she quickly amended her previous statement and explained herself. According to TMZ, Azalea said: "I need to make an apology. It's not my character to put out whatever business I go through in my private life on the internet for the world to comment on."

Azalea continued: "I felt very upset and I made an impulse choice that I immediately regretted, but it was too late to undo."

Using Playboi Carti's real name, Azalea added: "The truth is that I love Jordan very much, I always will – more than you could ever know." She concluded with: "That's all the world should ever need to hear and [I] am sorry for making something public that should always remain between him & I no matter what."

They were later seen together at an airport in Australia, according to TMZ, after Carti performed at the Falls Festival in Fremantle, where Azalea was spotted watching him from the side of the stage, so it looks like things are back on track!

Engagement rumors between Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea

On November 14, 2019, a robber broke into the Atlanta home of Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti, stealing $366,000 worth of jewelry, according to People. Azalea was actually in their home, in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, during the break-in. She reported that she left the back door open for Carti and when she heard footsteps upstairs, she assumed they were his.

Tragically, the robber took a hefty amount of luxury items, including a "$39,000 gold link Cuban chain, $70,000 of worth diamond eternity band rings, a $10,000 rose gold Cartier bracelet, and a $57,000 Audemars Piguet gold diamond-encrusted watch," according to People. But the robber also took a $35,000 engagement ring, thus sparking some pretty legit rumors that the couple is engaged.

Meanwhile, on April 2, 2020, Carti was arrested in Georgia in his Lamborghini, in possession of: "12 bags of marijuana, 3 guns, Xanax, codeine, and oxycodone," according to Page Six. Carti was in the car with another person and, according to the outlet, they were taken into custody and "are now facing the wall at Georgia's toughest para-military jail known as the Hill-ton."

Despite these ups and downs, Azalea and Carti remain strong and while they haven't explicitly confirmed their engagement rumors, they seem to remain united, despite the hurdles life throws at them.
