The Real Reason The Jersey Shore Stars Are Feuding

We might be living in an age of vast unpredictability, but even during these uncertain times there's a certain level of comfort that this remains a mainstay: when it comes to the cast members of Jersey Shore, the drama remains everlasting. For the most recent example, look no further than the current ongoing feud involving Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who announced she was quitting the latest iteration of the reality show, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, in late 2019, per E! News.

According to People, the latest fallout was prompted after the last episode of season three of Family Vacation aired on June 18, 2020, which showed Snooki fighting with fellow cast member Angelina Pivarnick at her November 2019 wedding to her now-husband, Chris Larangeira. The impetus for the debacle began after Snooki, along with fellow Jersey Shore stars Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Deena Cortese, gave an "off-color" speech during the reception following the nuptials. The speech prompted Angelina to, as People put it, spend "the next two hours ranting about how 'disgusting'" their remarks were.

Considering it's been months since the altercation occurred, some might assume that tempers might have calmed in the interim between Angelina's wedding day and the finale's air-date. But unless you're new here, you'll know that a reigniting of past wrongs is only par for the course with the Jersey Shore clan. And according to a number of tweets made by Angelina during the episode's premiere, there is still tea to be spilled — receipts included.

The 'Jersey Shore' cast took to Twitter to reignite their feud

The ongoing feud between Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Angelina Pivarnick, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, and Deena Cortese was resurrected after the Jersey Shore cast mates took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the season three Jersey Shore:Family Vacation finale after it aired. According to Angelina, the reason she took umbrage with the remarks made at her wedding had less to do with her and more to do with her now-husband, Chris Larangeira, who she described as "distraught" by the speech the ladies made.

"It wasn't about me. I can take a joke," she emphasized in one of her many posts. "It is the fact that I looked at my husband and felt his pain. And all of my guests were upset and booing." Angelina went on to threaten to post screenshots of texts purportedly about her sent in a Jersey Shore cast group chat, which she stated other participants in the text chain did not know she was accidentally included in.

"I wasn't going to say anything but do you really want me to show the world the group chat that you guys didn't know I was in talking s**t about me the night of my wedding?" she wrote. "And you wonder why I couldn't let things go."

In true form, Snooki decided to call her bluff, escalating the squabble in real time for their followers.

Snooki and JWoww blasted Angelina in response to her tweets

In response to Angelina Pivarnick's threat to post screenshots of a conversation in which she alleges her fellow Jersey Shore cast members sent a series of tweets trashing her the night of her wedding, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi went the route of the sardonic. "Expose the mean girls Angelina," Snooki tweeted. "Do what you need to do so we can all peacefully move on with our lives."

The dismissive tone of Snooki's reply might be an expression of months-long exasperation as cast member Jenni "JWoww" Farley claimed she and Deena Cortese attempted to reach out to Angelina multiple times in order to attempt a reconciliation between the four. "I cried for days thinking I took away her beautiful day," JWoww tweeted in a series of messages to her fans. "I questioned who I was. She never once reached out privately until she was forced too [sic]."

She continued: "I watched my best friend quit because she couldn't handle the stress," JWoww relayed, alluding to Snooki parting ways with the show. "I stayed up so many nights hearing Deena cry over being called names she didn't deserve. All while Angelina basked in the attention she was given."

According to JWoww, she made the deliberate choice to keep silent on the goings-on behind-the-scenes for seven months after the show wrapped. In the meantime, Angelina allegedly blocked her on social media. JWoww also had this to say to her co-star: "Angelina we are moms first, family second and you chose to make us coworkers."

Deena said the fallout put her in an 'unhealthy mental state'

Jersey Shore star Deena Cortese took to Twitter with her own statement, describing how after footage of the scene was leaked before the episode even aired, she, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, and Jenni "JWoww" Farley received "threats for months."

She also revealed that the ordeal put her in an "unhealthy mental state" and that it had been one of the most "dramatic things [she's] ever been [through] apart of filming." Unlike her costars, she decided not to live tweet the episode, which she stated she did not want to "relive."

"I wish the finale didn't end this way but you can't go back in time," she concluded. It's clear that none of the ladies have truly been able to patch things up in the months since filming for the third season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation wrapped. At this point, it seems like they're all focusing on the relationships they already have. Additionally, Snooki is cutting ties with some of the cast members all together.

Snooki says she's 'moving on' from drama

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who announced she didn't intend to return to the Jersey Shore multiverse in December 2019 — one month after the wedding incident took place — also relayed to People in May 2020 that just because she's parted ways with the MTV reality franchise doesn't mean she's gone from our screens for good. When it comes to Jersey Shore, apparently, "[d]rama has never been [her] thing." She cited that and motherhood as the driving forces for her decision.

"I needed to move on," she dished to the outlet. "It's just not for me anymore ... Especially now, I don't want to leave my kids and not see them for days on end to do that. I want to leave and have a good time with my friends and roomies, and then come home and be a mom." She added, "I'm definitely not done with TV ... I'm just done with that show."

While what happens at the Jersey Shore might never really, truly stay at the Jersey Shore, we'll see what the future holds for our favorite perennial reality stars.
