Why Chrishell Stause's Next DWTS Performance Will Bring You To Tears

Season 29 of Dancing With the Stars has seen its fair share of missteps. Controversial cat activist and Tiger King star, Carole Baskin, had an awkward silence-filled debut before cameras cut to a real-life commercial about her late husband's disappearance. Oof. Then, during Week 4, Tyra Banks had a bizarre hosting gaff when she called up the wrong couples to be in the bottom. "We're all human," Banks apologized on air. Yikes! But something DWTS fans can look forward to is Chrishell Stause's upcoming performance, which is going to be a super heartfelt tribute!

Selling Sunset fan-favorite Chrishell didn't exactly hit the ground running on DWTS. Making her debut on Sept. 14, 2020, with pro-dancer Gleb Savchenko, her tango to "Raise Your Glass" by Pink, which Tyra Banks described as a "sexy tango," received a not-so-scintillating 13 points out of a possible 30, putting her in the bottom three. But per Entertainment Tonight, However, Judge Derek Hough reminded Stause and Gleb that this show is a "marathon," and they kept pushing for her to go far. According to ET, their recent cha-chat to "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" by New Kids On The Block was an obvious hit, as they even got a personalized shout-out from the boy band!

On Oct. 19, 2020, for contemporary night, the pair will keep the momentum going, dancing to "Stars" by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Keep reading to find out why that song is so meaningful to Chrishell Stause.

Chrishell Stause's dance will be a heartfelt homage

Why is Chrishell Stause's Dancing With the Stars' contemporary night number so important? As the reality star blogged for Entertainment Tonight, the performance will be a tribute to her late parents. "This song means so much to me because it's a song I used to process my grief in losing my mother recently," she wrote. Sadly, the star lost her mother in July 2020 to a battle with lung cancer, devastatingly losing her father one year earlier to the same cause. "This dance is in tribute to my mom and dad," Stause added. "It's going to be a challenge for me this week because my pain in losing my mom is still very raw, but I am using this process to work through some of that and hopefully make something beautiful out of it." Aw.

Although Stause is still grieving, the future is bright — especially where it concerns her love life. The Selling Sunset star told Us Weekly that amid her divorce from Justin Hartley, she's been getting DMs ... from hockey players. "Yes, they have [DMed]," Stause confirmed. "But to be honest with you, I'm so busy with the show so you know, I am actually like super looking forward to that as soon as this journey's over. I hope it's not over soon, but conversations have been started..."

Romance aside, we can't wait to see Chrishell Stause's incredibly moving tribute come to life.
