The Truth About NeNe Leakes And Porsha Williams' Relationship

The Real Housewives of Atlanta has followed NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams' relationship as they've gone from being the best of friends to the worst of enemies. When Porsha first joined the housewives in Season 5, she and NeNe shared a "big sis little sis" type of relationship. But as their lives changed, so did their priorities. By Season 11, the two were seen shouting back and forth at each other in an infamous RHOA showdown after Porsha told NeNe that "the door is closed."

Things went on to escalate in March 2019 after Porsha gave birth to her daughter, Pilar Jhena McKinley. Shortly after welcoming baby PJ, Porsha took to social media to reveal text messages from a heated exchange she had with the Glee actress. In the text messages, NeNe allegedly shamed Porsha for having a "busted shape" and said she needed to "try dieting" after giving birth just six days before. According to Inquistr, Porsha was extremely hurt by NeNe's words and served her with a cease and desist in March 2019. But their years-long friendship didn't end there. Here's where they currently stand.

NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams made peace in Greece

By Season 12 of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Williams and NeNe Leakes were both in better places and ready to mend fences during the girls' trip to Greece. According to Yahoo, NeNe apologized to Porsha for any pain she caused her. "I'm sorry," NeNe told the Dish Nation host. "I love you." Porsha also became emotional and expressed how much she missed their friendship. "I love you and I miss you so much," she replied. "I miss you such much, NeNe. It's been really hard without you."

At the time of their rekindled friendship, Porsha was dealing with the aftermath of her estranged fiancé's cheating scandal. She and Dennis McKinley were attending therapy sessions after he admitted to cheating on her during her pregnancy. While speaking in her confessional, Porsha shared how her counseling sessions helped open her mind up to the importance of her friendships with the Swagg Boutique owner.

"Going to therapy with Dennis, it makes me think about the long-term value of a relationship," Williams said on the show, the Inquistr noted. "The reason why I have been so hurt by NeNe is because I valued our friendship. It really got strong throughout the years. Now I don't give a f**k about what she was going through at the time because what she did was uncalled for. But what I know is that I love the person that is in front of me, and I want to move past it, period."
