The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco has been acting since she was 7-years-old, when she starred in the 1992 TV movie, Quicksand: No Escape. For the 10 years, Cuoco landed a series of guest-starring roles on TV shows like My So-Called Life, 7th Heaven, and The Ellen Show. In 2002 Cuoco received her big break with the hit ABC sitcom 8 Simple Rules that starred the late John Ritter. Two years following the 2005 cancellation of 8 Simple Rules, Cuoco landed the role that made her a household name – Penny on The Big Bang Theory.
The Big Bang Theory would become a gigantic hit for the network and ran for twelve seasons. The series finale drew just under 18 million viewers, the most for the show since the season nine premiere in September 2015, per Variety. The show would also make Kaley Cuoco very, very rich. According to Entertainment Weekly, during the show's final season, Cuoco and the other main cast members — Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kunal Nayyer, and Simon Helberg — all earned $1 million per episode. That made her the second-highest-paid actress on television (behind Sofia Vergara), earning $24.5 million (per Forbes).

Kaley Cuoco was awarded the Worst Supporting Actress at the 2016 Razzies! The Golden Raspberry Awards, aka Razzies, which "celebrate" the worst performances and roles of the year. According to USA Today, other esteemed winners in 2016 were Worst picture winners Fantastic Four and Fifty Shades of Grey, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, earning Worst Actor and Actress for their starring roles in Fifty Shades of Grey, and Eddie Redmayne taking home a Razzie for his supporting role in Jupiter Ascending.
Cuoco actually won the Razzie for two roles that year — her voice role as Eleanor in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip and for her part in the Kevin Hart movie The Wedding Ringer led to her nomination and won Worst Supporting Actress. The Wedding Ringer, not to be confused with The Wedding Singer, received some pretty dismal reviews when it was released. Critic Roger Ebert gave the film two stars, writing, "If you're at the multiplex in the middle of the afternoon, and The Wedding Ringer is the only movie playing at a time that's convenient, you won't be completely miserable." Cuoco played the soon-to-be wife of Josh Gad, with Hart as the guy he hires to be the best man at his wedding.
