Inside Ariana Grande's Engagement To Dalton Gomez

Ariana Grande said, "Thank you, next," and it looks like her "next" is the one for her. The Grammy Award-winning artist surprised fans with some thrilling news on Dec. 20, 2020: She's engaged. She made the announcement through an Instagram post that featured a gallery of cozy pictures with Dalton Gomez, plus a massive ring on that finger. "forever n then some," she wrote.

Grande and Gomez were first reported to be an item by TMZ in March 2020. The outlet said the pair was quarantining together and had been a couple for "several months." Gomez is much different than the "Positions” singer's past boyfriends, who were all in the entertainment industry. She was most recently dating and engaged to Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson, but the very public relationship ended in 2018. Gomez is no entertainment mogul, but a high-end real estate agent that "rolls in the same circles" as his famous girlfriend, according to TMZ.

Grande's celebrity friends were quick to send well wishes by commenting on the exciting post. "Congrats to these two amazing souls. Ari we love you and could not be happier for you. Dalton you are a lucky man," Grande's manager Scooter Braun commented, per People. Hailey Baldwin also chimed in, saying she is "so happy" for the pair.

The engagement may seem out of the blue for a relationship we haven't heard much about, but that's exactly what the couple wanted. Let's take a closer look inside Ariana Grande's engagement to Dalton Gomez.

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez wanted to keep their romance quiet

Ariana Grande's relationships have always been highly publicized and dissected, so much like fellow singer Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, Grande and Dalton Gomez decided to keep their relationship on the low. Gomez's Instagram account is private and Grande does not tag him in photos. That doesn't mean they were completely against showing the world the love they do have for each other, though.

The couple confirmed their relationship in May 2020 by appearing together in the music video for "Stuck with U," Grande's collaboration with Justin Bieber. Grande then shared a photo of herself cuddled up to Dalton in a series of images she posted in June, and then wrote him a birthday tribute in August. "hbd to my baby my best friend my fav part of all the days :) i love u," she gushed.

The former Nickelodeon star has been busy enjoying the release of her sixth studio album Positions, which includes many sensual songs that are rumored to be about Gomez. Now Grande has some more excitement to take in, and a source trusted by People magazine says everyone is thrilled."They couldn't be happier, they're just so excited. This is a happy time for them, both sets of parents are thrilled," the source divulged.

It looks like Grande found a man that can "stay up all night." Congratulations, you two!
