Aaron Rodgers Announces He's Engaged After Winning MVP Award

Aaron Rodgers has earned acclaim for his talents as an iconic quarterback, having taken home one championship ring in the 2011 Super Bowl XLV against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yet, while Rodgers might not hold the record for the most wins in NFL history, the famed player has been recognized for his hard work and enviable throwing arm in other ways.

Rodgers' latest achievement came in February 2021 when he received his third MVP award during the NFL Honors broadcast. As he virtually tuned in to accept the prestigious accolade, Rodgers reflected back on the latest season.

"It's an honor to win this award for the third time," the Green Bay Packers star marveled (via Entertainment Tonight). "2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change and growth, some amazing memorable moments. 180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season."

He also dropped a major bombshell in terms of his personal life. "I got engaged," Rodgers announced, before going on to thank his "teammates," the "coaching staff," and, of course, his lucky lady. "Off the field, I got a really great group of people that support me," he gushed. "So, I'd like to thank my team ... my fiancée."

Though Rodgers did not reveal the identity of his fiancée, Internet sleuths have an idea of who the blushing bride-to-be might be. Keep scrolling to find out who Rodgers may be walking down the aisle with in the near future.

This is why fans think Aaron Rodgers may be engaged to Shailene Woodley

Aaron Rodgers dropped the bombshell that he's engaged, but to whom, you might ask? Well, the Green Bay Packers star has yet to confirm the identity of his future wife, but it appears the special gal could be actress Shailene Woodley. Just days before he announced the news, E! News revealed the quarterback and the Divergent star were involved in a long-distance relationship.

"They have kept things private and low key," a source told the outlet on Feb. 2, 2021, noting Rodgers was "very focused on his season." As for Woodley, the Golden Globe nominee has been filming her upcoming movie Misanthrope in Montreal (via Canada Live). Still, the two have been trying to make their romance work. "They have seen each other and been in touch," the insider told E!. "They continue to talk and see each other when they can. They are both focused on their careers, but they also make time for each other."

Between his confirmed engagement and the news of his relationship with Woodley, fans could not help but spread speculation on social media. Following Rodgers' appearance during the NFL Honors broadcast, internet users took to Twitter to share their excitement over the engagement.

"Congrats to two of my favs omg," one fan wrote, while another echoed, "I did not have @AaronRodgers12 and @shailenewoodley engaged on my 2021 BINGO card but I am here for it!"

Aaron Rodgers has been linked to some high-profile women in the past

Aaron Rodgers is keeping a low-profile in terms of his engagement, but the football star has dated some pretty famous women in the past. In addition to his speculated romance with Shailene Woodley, Rodgers has been linked to Jessica Szohr, Kelly Rohrbach, and Olivia Munn. The University of California alum's latest relationship was with Danica Patrick.

Throughout their two-year romance, the former couple enjoyed countless lavish vacations, and they even bought a $28 million Malibu estate in December 2019, Variety reported. But by July 2020, the handsome hunk and the IndyCar Series champion called it quits, her rep confirmed to Page Six at the time.

Months later, in September 2020, Rodgers opened up about his "new and increased love of life." Though he did not directly comment on his split with Patrick, the former college football star hinted at their breakup when he mentioned the "decisions and changes" he made that have put him in "a lot better headspace."

"There's just a lot of things that have come together in my life over the last few months that have really been enjoyable and reminded me, given me perspective, on life and in football, to view things through the most positive lens I possibly can," Rodgers shared in an interview on SiriusXM's Pat McAfee Show. Now that Rodgers has seemingly found true love, we hope this one's for keeps!
