Inside Kim Kardashian's First Instagram Since Filing For Divorce

It seems like Kim Kardashian is looking back on better times after filing for divorce from Kanye West. The split comes nearly seven years after the couple tied the knot and subsequently welcomed four children, of whom they plan on sharing joint physical custody, according to TMZ. While the parents are "committed to co-parenting together," the divorce surely won't be easy on the family.

"It's as amicable as possible, but amicable doesn't mean joyful or ideal," a source told People of their uncoupling. "It just means that they're being adults about the whole thing." Although the pair has been having marital woes since West's presidential run in the summer of 2020, insiders say he "isn't happy" about the breakup. Since the pair has reportedly been living separately for months, "He knew it was coming, but that doesn't make it any easier," a source explained.

While Kardashian is doing what she can to put on a brave face for the public and her children, her first Instagram post since filing for divorce suggests she could really use some paternal guidance right about now. Keep scrolling for more details.

Kim Kardashian admits she misses her late father amid divorce

Following speculation about Kim Kardashian's relationship status, she seemed to be holding it together, but days after officially filing for divorce from Kanye West, the mother of four suggested she needed her late father, Robert Kardashian's guidance in an Instagram tribute for his birthday.

"Happy Birthday Dad! I celebrate you every single day but today even more. So much to tell you! I called your cell phone number just wondering if anyone would pick up after all these years. I actually can't believe I remembered it," she began on Feb. 22, 2021. "Please come visit me in a dream soon," she added with a praying hands emoji. "Also, can you pretty please send down a sign in the form of those symbols/birds we always talked about?!?! I just miss you sooooo much!"

The late lawyer, known for representing O.J. Simpson, died in 2003 at the age of 59 — just two months after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer, according to Entertainment Tonight. Previously, Kim has been very open about struggling with the loss of her patriarch, something she bonded over with West, as his mother died in 2007. In fact, for Kim's October 2020 birthday, West gifted her a hologram of her late dad, which she called the "most thoughtful gift of a lifetime." In a tweet, she said the "so lifelike" hologram was a "special surprise from heaven." It sounds like her dad will always cheer her up despite his untimely death.
