Fans Are Convinced Gigi Hadid And Zayn Malik Got Married. Here's Why

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have everyone talking once again. The couple has had fans screaming #CoupleGoals, ever since Us Weekly first claimed back in November 2015 that the former One Direction band member and the supermodel were dating. The couple went strong for almost three years, and Hadid even appeared in Malik's music video for his debut solo single "Pillowtalk," though they hit a snag in March 2018 when they announced their split.

Malik confirmed their breakup on Twitter, calling their relationship "incredibly meaningful, loving and fun." Hadid shared a similar sentiment on her Twitter account, as she admitted she was "forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons" that she and the singer shared, affectionately referring to him as "Z." But that breakup didn't last long at all.

It was only a month later in April 2018 that TMZ reported that the two were kissing up a storm in New York City, pretty much confirming they were back on. Things seemed on/off between the couple until Hadid made it clear they were very much back together by posting a photo of the British singer to her disposable camera Instagram account, @gisposable, for Valentine's Day 2020. In April 2020, the couple announced they were expecting a baby and their daughter, Khai, came into the world in September 2020.

But are the parents officially husband and wife as of March 2021? Read on for why fans think so.

Zayn Malik's collaborator appeared to spill the marriage beans

Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid's fans were convinced they're officially married after singer Ingrid Michaelson appeared to let the news slip during a Patreon session on March 29, 2021 when she opened up about their duet, "To Begin Again." She said, "We've never met, I've never spoken to him. Zayn doesn't do stuff he doesn't wanna do, and the fact that he did this song is very flattering. He's such a private person and now he's married and has a child so, he does the things he wants to do."

Well, it's safe to say the "married" part got fans talking. Per Just Jared, "Zayn is married" began trending on Twitter and plenty of social media users asked the star to clarify if she let some inside information slip or simply misspoke. Michaelson shed a little more light on the situation, but didn't explicitly confirm if the couple has or hasn't tied the knot. She replied to a tweet that read, "Ingrid after know if she convinced the whole fandom that zayn is married," alongside a GIF of a man rising from a coffin. "I MADE A MISTAKE IM SORRY BUT ALSO I LOVE THAT LEOPARD PRINT COFFIN BLANKET," she wrote in all caps.

But was the "mistake" announcing the marriage, or was it because Hadid and Malik haven't actually got married? Fans are going to have to wait and see what the couple has to say on that one.
