Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans Reveals Why She Unfollowed Briana DeJesus

Former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has made it clear she's ready to cut ties with the MTV reality show for good after she was infamously let go from the series under an umbrella of controversy. The reality star has had some very public highs and lows since joining the show — which is a spinoff of 16 And Pregnant and Teen Mom — in 2011, including her custody struggles with her children, 11-year-old Jace, 6-year-old Kaiser, and 4-year-old Ensley, and her on-and-off relationship with David Eason.

In February 2020, Jenelle confirmed that she would not be returning to the show. "I'm officially out of contract with MTV in April. That was the only thing I was waiting on to move forward," she said in a statement (per E! News), almost a year after she stopped filming amid controversy surrounding David and their dog. TMZ claimed David had shot and killed the dog after it was spotted "nipping" their daughter, after which MTV cut ties with the duo.

"MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since," MTV said in a statement, via E! News. "Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season." So, why has Jenelle decided to cut ties with her former co-stars in 2021? Read on to find out.

Jenelle Evans was 'upset' by Briana DeJesus' social media content

Jenelle Evans confirmed in March 2021 that she has decided to formally distance herself from her former reality TV co-stars because seeing them film Teen Mom 2 was becoming increasingly difficult. She told Us Weekly that she had unfollowed her former co-star Briana DeJesus on Instagram but denied it was because of any drama with her. "I feel like I don't have bad blood with anybody, but I'm, you know, keeping things civil, not really talking to anybody," she said. "I unfollowed [Briana] recently because seeing her film with the crew makes me upset."

"It's just hard to be part of something when people replace you," she added of the show, noting that she was finding it particularly "hard to let go" because she was one of the original girls that made the franchise popular, as she also appeared on Season 2 of 16 And Pregnant in 2010 while pregnant with her son, Jace. She said that she found being let go by MTV "shocking," but added, "I respect their decision and have nothing but love for MTV." We are just happy to see that there's no bad blood here and Jenelle is doing what's best for her.
