How Many Grandchildren Does Harrison Ford Have?

The name "Indiana Jones" brings one legendary actor to mind: Harrison Ford. So we were excited to learn that the 79-year-old actor has returned to the set of "Indiana Jones 5" in London and Glasgow after recovering from a shoulder injury, according to The Sun.

That's not the only role he's famously known for, however, having played the iconic character of Han Solo in the original "Star Wars" trilogy as well as "The Force Awakens" and "The Rise of Skywalker" three decades later. He was also nominated for an Oscar in 1985 for his role in "Witness" and won the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes in 2002 for "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment." He even earned a Guinness World Record Award in 2016 for being the highest-grossing actor of all time (per IMDb).

Yet, the most notable role Ford has played is that of a father to his children and grandchildren, according to Closer Weekly. "I have young grandchildren, I'm enjoying my life, and I want to stick around for as long as I can," Ford told The National in 2010. We did some investigating to find out how many grandchildren Harrison Ford has. Read on to find out more about them.

Harrison Ford has four grandchildren from his first marriage

Before he skyrocketed to fame, Harrison Ford was married to Mary Marquardt, with whom he had two sons, Ben and Willard. The marriage ended in 1979, according to The Guardian, after Ford had an affair with Carrie Fisher while filming "Star Wars." Ford's sons were adolescents at the time and are still close to their father.

Ford's oldest son Ben (aged 53) posted a picture of himself with his dad on Twitter in 2019, saying, "My dad or pops (newly adapted) ... taught me resiliency as a young father and later helped give me the courage to pursue my dreams." Ben has given Ford two grandsons, Ethan and Waylon. Inspired by his mother's cooking, Ben became a celebrity chef with his own restaurant in L.A. and the author of a cookbook, according to the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, 52-year-old Willard has also given Ford two grandchildren, Eliel and Guiliana. Willard leads a far more private life than his brother, but according to his LinkedIn profile, he is a partner at a bicycle shop and club called The Super Fred. He also guides bicycle tours in "Mexico, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Japan, France, and other countries," according to his profile.

Harrison Ford's other adult children haven't given him grandchildren

With his second and third wives, Harrison Ford has three more children, although none have given him grandchildren yet. Ford married his second wife, Melissa Mathison, in 1983, according to the Los Angeles Times. Mathison, the award-winning screenwriter known for "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," had two children with Ford: his third son, Malcolm, and his only daughter, Georgia.

Thirty-three-year-old Malcolm is a gifted musician and is the frontman of an indie band called "The Dough Rollers," which has toured with Bob Dylan, Queens of the Stone Age, and John Mellencamp, according to USA Today. His sister, Georgia, is 31 years old and has acted in "True Story," "I'm Being Me," and "American Milkshake," according to IMDb.

Mathison and Ford divorced in 2004 after being married for two decades, and she died in 2015 from neuroendocrine cancer, per The New Yorker. Ford married his current wife, Calista Flockhart, in 2010, and the two have an adopted son, Liam, who is now 20 years old. Liam is a student at Amherst College in Massachusetts, according to People.

Whether or not any of Harisson Ford's other children will give him grandchildren remains to be seen. But given what a doting dad he is to Liam, we imagine he'd welcome the chance to have a bigger family.
