Meghan King's marriage to Cuffe Biden Owens didn't last long. After only a month of dating, King and U.S. President Joe Biden's nephew tied the knot in October 2021. Sadly, their whirlwind romance came to an end just two months later, when it was announced they were splitting. After the news broke, King spoke up about the breakup on her Instagram Stories. "I am rattled," she wrote, per E! News. "This situation is profoundly devastating. This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows — and I'm shocked and saddened by the way things turned out."
While neither party has spoken about the reason for their separation, a source claimed to Daily Mail that Owens wasn't keen on being in the spotlight with "The Real Housewives of Orange County" alum. "Cuffe didn't want their relationship under the microscope 24/7," the insider said. "It's just not him. He values his privacy too much, unlike Meghan who comes with her entourage of a million followers."
It's true the "RHOC" star brings with her a large following. King's first marriage similarly saw plenty of media attention, as it didn't have much success either. Meghan King and Jim Edmonds had a messy divorce
Meghan King married her first husband, former Major League Baseball player Jim Edmonds, in 2014. Edmonds brought with him four children from relationships prior to his marriage with King. "I love kids and I loved being a stepmom, but it's just a lot of baggage," King recalled of Edmonds' children on "The Viall Files" podcast. The couple famously had trouble conceiving, but ultimately welcomed three children together, daughter Aspen and twin boys Hart and Hayes. In 2018, Edmonds and King went on vacation to mend cracks in their marriage after having three kids in two years, she explained in a blog post.
Scandal hit their marriage in 2019 when it was revealed that Edmonds had an affair via sexting, allegedly while King was pregnant. Edmonds denied rumors he had fully stepped out on his wife in a statement to Us Weekly. "I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person," he said. "At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact." King and Edmonds' divorce proceedings turned ugly when King accused him of sleeping with their family's hired help.
"It's one thing to be accused of something," Edmonds responded on his Instagram (via Us Weekly). "It's another thing to be so negligent and so careless, and ruin the lives of innocent young people.. I did not sleep with our nanny." The two stars publicly battled each other for months before their divorce was official in May 2021.

Since his divorce from Meghan King, Jim Edmonds has moved on to fiancee Kortnie O'Connor — and the ex-MLB player says he's happier than ever. Edmonds opened up about being in a "dark place" after his "loveless and abusive" marriage to King in a June 2020 Instagram post. "The lies and accusations that followed the breakup only put me deeper into a funk," he wrote, crediting his new relationship with O'Connor as his saving grace.
Now officially removed from the "RHOC" star, it seems Edmonds reacted to King's sudden marriage to Cuffe Biden Owens in the same way many of us did. Edmonds told Daily Mail he thought the news of their rushed wedding was a "joke" at first. "I wondered, 'Is she pregnant?' But is it even possible to know that just four weeks after the first date?" Edmonds also told the outlet he's keeping his distance from King. "I have no interest in getting dragged back into the negative narrative she's pushed and all the false information she's put out there," he said. "It's why we've really kept our opinions to ourselves on this."
As he enjoys his next chapter, Edmonds is now a grandfather. Edmonds' daughter Lauren welcomed a daughter in December 2020, The Sun reports. "Feeling very grateful for every moment of life," Edmonds reflected on his growing family on Instagram.
