"Bridgerton" Season 2 is almost here for all those who celebrate! If you aren't completely obsessed with the Regency romance series, you might be one of the few. In 2021, Netflix announced that "82 million households around the world chose to watch 'Bridgerton' in its first 28 days." The Netflix hit generated a huge global audience without superheroes or explosions.

The "Bridgerton" series is based on Julia Quinn's novels and has been described as "Gossip Girl" meets Jane Austen. Like Quinn's novels, each season of the Netflix hit follows the love story of one of the eight Bridgerton children. All the siblings are featured in every story, but the main character shifts. Regé-Jean Page, who played the handsome Duke of Hastings in the first season of "Bridgerton," summed up the Netflix hit to British GQ. Page said, "It's like, 'No, it's not an Austen adaption. That's the point.' It's triple the speed!" He clicked his fingers and added, "The whole thing is a bit less precious and a bit more fun."

Nicola Coughlan, who plays fan-favorite Penelope Featherington in the Regency romance, talked to Entertainment Weekly about how her life changed after the Netflix hit. Coughlan joked, "When 'Bridgerton' came out, I was like, 'No one's going to watch,' and then it snowballed. Then Kim Kardashian said it's her favorite show. We're 'besties' now on Instagram." And now, we've gathered up the latest scoop about "Bridgerton" Season 2, so you won't have to!

When is the Bridgerton Season 2 premiere?

The "Bridgerton" Season 2 premiere is around the corner, and the Regency romance was such a hit for Netflix that a "Bridgerton" prequel is in the works. "Bridgerton" Season 2 will premiere on March 25 at 3 a.m. EST. Millions of fans will be setting their alarms to watch Season 2, as it follows Julia Quinn's second book, "The Viscount Who Loved Me," the story of the Bridgertons and oldest son Anthony's search for a wife.

In Season 1, the friendship between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) was a hit with fans. But Jessie told Entertainment Weekly that "Bridgerton" Season 2 includes "Peneloise" drama! Jessie said that "they're getting older, and they each have secrets. It will shake them both." Meanwhile, Jonathan Bailey, who plays the hunky Anthony Bridgerton, told EW the second season will reveal even more intimacy between the "Bridgerton" characters. "The female gaze is so important because there are many ways people communicate by sex, and what sex means, and what your body means to someone else," Bailey said. "It's important that there's an inversion of sexuality and how people are exploited in the storytelling of sex."

And yes, Season 2 will still have plenty of steamy scenes! Series creator Chris Van Dusen promised E! News that Season 2 had its fair share of "thirsty moments."

Who will be in the Bridgerton Season 2 cast?

The cast for "Bridgerton" Season 2 will have some additional characters introduced, and one of the romantic leads from Season 1 left. One of the biggest changes in "Bridgerton" Season 2 is that Regé-Jean Page exited the series. Page explained to British GQ, "The universe has expanded, so I'm no longer in it." But don't give up all hope of seeing the Duke of Hastings; Page did not say no to an appearance in "Bridgerton" Season 2. Page told British GQ, "You know I couldn't tell you! Isn't there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren't suspecting?"

Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) will be introduced to the "Bridgerton" family in Season 2. Anthony Bridgerton is pressured to make Edwina his bride, but he is drawn to her sister Kate. Jonathan Bailey told Entertainment Weekly, "Edwina and Kate are the embodiment of his approaches to love — one is head, one is heart." Bailey noted that the story illustrates "how intense it is to fall in love in a society that is so rigid." Can't wait to see it! We are starting the "Bridgerton" Season 2 countdown and will keep you posted on all the latest news.
