Georgina Chapman Reportedly Still Planning To Divorce Harvey Weinstein
The fashion designer is moving forward with her divorce.
According to an Entertainment Tonight exclusive, published on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, Georgina Chapman is still planning to leave her husband, disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein.
"Georgina and Harvey have spoken briefly since the separation, but it is only about the children. That's the only thing she really wants to discuss with him at this point," a source close to Chapman alleged. The former couple, who were married for 10 years, share two children together: 7-year-old daughter India, and 4-year-old son Dashiell.
"Divorce is still the plan and she has her team of lawyers in place," the insider continued. "She is doing all right now and will be OK. She has a great support system around her and is moving on."
Chapman is also making major plans in her career, as she gears up for her return to New York Fashion Week with her brand, Marchesa. She will host a runway show featuring her new collection on Feb. 14, 2018.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Chapman, 41, left Weinstein, 65, shortly after a shocking New York Times exposé detailed his alleged 30-year history of sexual harassment and assault in October 2017. Since then, dozens of women have come forward with allegations against the Miramax co-founder, and multiple other Hollywood big shots have been accused of sexual abuse.
"My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband," Chapman said in a statement after Weinstein's scandal first broke. "Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time."
Chapman's friend, Alyssa Milano, who reignited the "Me Too" movement on social media, recently gave an update on how the mother of two is doing in the wake of the ongoing scandal. "Georgina is doing very well," she told Megyn Kelly on the Today show. "She's an amazing mother. She's an amazing woman, and I think her priority right now is focusing on how to raise those two children to the best of her capacity given the situation."
