Karoline Leavitt Gives Us Brutal Reminder Of Her Husband's Age In Poolside Pic
Karoline Leavitt should have hopefully realized by now that any photo she posts with her husband, Nicholas Riccio, on social media is going to always unleash a horde of comments from trolls about their huge age gap romance. Riccio is over three decades older than the Gen Z White House press secretary — and Leavitt's parents are shockingly close in age to him. Despite the New Hampshire native's attempts at bridging the age gap by dressing like an old lady, it's clearly obvious that Riccio is much older than Leavitt.
Unfortunately for Riccio, he's been called some savage nicknames thanks to his May-December romance, including variations of "dad" and "grandfather." While Riccio is the father of their child, Niko, trolls love calling him Leavitt's father, which is just all kinds of awkward. In a recent carousel on Instagram, Leavitt snuck in a family photo of her, Riccio, and their son hanging out in Palm Beach, Florida.
While many of the comments were positive, praising Leavitt for all the work she's done so far during President Donald Trump's second term in office, several poked fun at how much older Riccio looked. "Aww, enjoying time with grandpa," wrote one person. "What made [you want to] marry someone else's grandfather," another person asked facetiously. One troll wondered if Leavitt was "Lewinsky 2.0," referring to former President Bill Clinton's scandal with then-intern Monica Lewinsky (They were ages 49 and 22, respectively, when the sexual relationship began.) Someone else seemed to genuinely ask, "Is that her dad?" which made people laugh in the comment section.
Why Nicholas Riccio isn't on his wife's social media a lot
Besides avoiding all the negative comments about her older husband, Karoline Leavitt has another big reason she doesn't tend to post pictures of Nicholas Riccio to her social media. In December 2024, the Daily Mail reported that the White House press secretary had once told fans she and her husband have different personalities. "He doesn't have social media and he's an introvert (complete opposite of me)," she said. "I respect his privacy on here — but he's my number one fan, the best dad, and just the best man I've ever met."
It seems like either Riccio has loosened up some, or Leavitt is just letting her extrovert flag fly and smashing that publish button, because there have been some rare PDA moments shared online between the two. Riccio even attended the annual White House Easter Egg Roll with Leavitt and their son, which put him very much in the public eye — and on trolls' radar when Leavitt attempted to parade her age gap marriage to millions, but it backfired. Despite the negativity surrounding their age difference, Leavitt and Riccio seem to be going strong and living a happy life with their child.
