When Atlas Heche-Tupper turned 13, his mom Anne Heche posted that she was shocked to have a teenager. Several years later, though, he's well into his teen years and growing up fast. And while he isn't a public figure (though his dad has hinted at that potentially changing some time down the line), every once in a while, we've been given glimpses into his life and interests as he comes into his own.

In 2022, Heche shared an Instagram post featuring both her and her young son making animated expressions. "Atlas is a TEEN-AGER?" she wrote in honor of his 13th birthday. At the time, a number of the actor's friends and followers commented to say they were shocked he was already a teen, with one gushing, "I remember when he turned 3! Can't believe he's 13. Congrats!!" "A teenager?! Now that is just crazy," said another. Shocking or not, though, Heche-Tupper was growing up, and a few months later, that was clear to see when his mom posted a photo with both of her children. (She also shared son Homer Laffoon with her ex-husband, Coley Laffoon).

Sadly, Heche died later that year, and for a while after, he was kept out of the spotlight. However, about a year later, his dad, James Tupper, began sharing more updates via his Instagram and Heche-Tupper even accompanied him at events. In October 2026, Heche-Tupper, 17, made a red carpet appearance (above) at the Marine Toys for Tots "Legacy of Hope" Gala alongside his actor father. While he's obviously still a teen, the young man looked incredibly grown up even more so than the year before, when his dad shared a picture of him at a tennis tournament.

James Tupper shares a ton of updates about Atlas Heche-Tupper

Atlas Heche-Tupper's own Instagram generally consists of photo dumps from vacations and hangouts with friends but his dad has shed some more light on his interests. For one, James Tupper shared in October 2025 that Heche-Tupper was great at tennis. In the caption of a snap of him holding a trophy, the proud dad gushed, "So proud of you! Champion. More to come. Works the hardest. Plays with soul."

Tupper has also hinted that his son may want to go into showbiz like his parents, sharing in one Instagram post that he was getting "director training." The "Big Little Lies" star didn't offer more details than that, but Heche-Tupper seemed pretty pleased about the post, commenting with a fire emoji.

Sadly, there was major estate drama in wake of Anne Heche's death, with Tupper saying his former girlfriend asked him to be the executor of her estate and her firstborn son, Homer Laffoon, disputing that. However, Tupper has since gone on to share snaps of the half-brothers hanging out together, even writing in one of the captions, "[L]ove these boys." In March 2026, Tupper also shared a photo of the two celebrating Homer's birthday. "Two bro's back together," he wrote. The pic was shared only days before Tupper-Heche's 17th birthday, and he certainly looked very grown up alongside his older brother. Past drama aside, it's clear there's a lot of love in this family, and we're grateful for Tupper's updates over the years.
