RHOP: The Truth About Monique Samuels' Husband Chris

Bravo's Real Housewives franchise sounds pretty explanatory by its name. But while some households may be happier than others, the cast of the Real Housewives of Potomac reinforces that being a Real Housewife goes beyond the wedding rings. We've seen RHOP chronicle OGs Gizelle Bryant and Charrisse Jackson Jordan's love lives post-divorce, as well as a glimpse into Robyn Dixon's tumultuous relationship with husband Juan Dixon. Fortunately, in contrast, RHOP newcomer Monique Samuels is living a modern-day love story with her husband Chris Samuels.

Monique made her debut on Season 2 of RHOP. According to her website, she also prides herself on being an "entrepreneur, wife, mom, and a philanthropist." In 2018, the New Jersey native launched her own brand, Not For Lazy Moms, which serves a resource for new generation mothers. When Monique's not managing her husband's real estate investment company nor his non-profit foundation, the reality TV star is not afraid to spit a few bars and proudly remind her castmates she is indeed somebody's "wifey."

Chris Samuels is a former professional football player

We're more than 100% sure nobody loves their husband harder than Monique Samuels loves Chris Samuels. What makes their relationship so admirable is the story behind it. The two met after Monique left Duquesne University and moved to Washington, D.C. to pursue her music career. However, it wasn't initially in their plans to ever tie the knot.

"When we first met, neither one of us wanted to be in a relationship. He looked at me and said, 'When do you see yourself getting married?' I'm like, 'What? I'm not thinking about marriage,'" Monique recalled on RHOP. "When I met Chris, I was 19. So we've known each other for a very long time, and we've built a friendship, and that friendship blossomed into a relationship."

Chris played football for the University of Alabama before playing professionally as an offensive tackle for the Washington Redskins. He was picked third overall in the 2000 NFL Draft, and made six Pro Bowl appearances. Following 10 seasons of his career, Chris worked as a head football coach at Osbourn High School in Virginia. In 2017, Chris became the offensive coordinator for Churchill High School in Potomac, per Inside Nova.

Monique and Chris married in 2012 and share three children together: Chase, Christopher, and Milani. Almost a decade into marriage, and Monique can't seem to stop gushing over her husband. She told The Daily Dish, "My husband, he is amazing. I'm telling you, I found a diamond in the rough."
