What Jennifer Lopez's Parents Think About Her Past Relationships

Jennifer Lopez has always maintained that family means everything to her and often brags about her adorable kids, Max and Emme Muñiz. That's because she comes from a tight-knit family herself. Although her father, David Lopez, prefers to stay out of the limelight, the star is frequently photographed with her youthful mother Guadalupe Rodriguez. The 75-year-old and her husband have been a driving force in J.Lo's life and she credits them for everything they have taught her. No doubt, they will also be with Lopez as she faces life without her fiancé of two years.

J.Lo's parents have been by her side through the ups and downs of her career, as well as her personal life. And Lopez has loved and lost a couple of times over the last few decades. The singer has been married three times and has also been involved in a few high-profile relationships. Now that Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's engagement has ended, she may turn to her parents for support. But what do her parents think about the men that she has been involved with in the past?

Jennifer Lopez's mother criticized her first two marriages

Jennifer Lopez and her mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, are closer than most. Last year, she threw her mother a surprise party for her 75th birthday. However, they haven't always been this way. In an episode of the VH1 documentary series Behind the Music, J.Lo and her mother sat down for a candid heart-to-heart and talked about their troubled past. By the end of the discussion, Rodriguez felt comfortable enough to talk about some of her daughter's exes (via the Daily Mail).

Lopez first tied the knot with Ojani Noa in 1997. In the 2010 interview, Rodriguez said, "When she told me she was getting married I was like, 'Oh no!'" Rodriguez also believed that Noa's intentions weren't pure. "I just thought he was a gold digger, he wanted fame and fortune and this was the way he was going to get it." It seems safe to say that mama wasn't happy with her daughter's first hubby.

In 2001, the "On The Floor" singer then married her back-up dancer Cris Judd. She dated him right after her public breakup with Ben Affleck, whom she was engaged to. In the 2010 interview, Rodriguez heard of her daughter's plans to wed, she said, "Oh my God, another mistake!"

Guadalupe Rodriguez may have favored Marc Anthony for Jennifer Lopez

Guadalupe Rodriguez also saw her daughter wed a third husband. Jennifer Lopez married Marc Anthony in 2004 and from their union, Max and Emme were born. This marriage also lasted the longest, with them staying together for a decade. According to Radar Online, J.Lo's mom favored Anthony. A source told the outlet that "Lupe adored Marc Anthony and spent years clinging to the hope they'd get back together again some time."

The article reveals that she also wasn't Alex Rodriguez's biggest fan, but at the time, J.Lo and A-Rod's relationship was quite new. In the years after the report, the couple and her mother have frequently been photographed together and they seemed happy. The "Love Don't Cost A Thing" songstress credited A-Rod and her two sisters, Leslie and Lynda, for helping with her mother's surprise birthday party, per ET Canada.

J.Lo and A-Rod may be a thing of the past, but she's still our "Jenny from the Block."
