Notorious Cheaters Who Finally Found Love

You know what they say: once a cheater, always a cheater — and that very well may be the truth. There's actually been scientific evidence to prove that cheaters are more likely to do it again. Who would knowingly sign up for that? Apparently, a lot of people. There's someone for everyone, including the A-listers who have their cheating scandals splashed across TMZ and Page Six. Yes, even the likes of Tiger Woods and Hugh Grant managed to move on, albeit, their egos were probably permanently bruised.

For some reason, widespread cheating allegations don't stop notoriously unfaithful celebrities from finding love. Maybe it's the allure of red carpets and exclusive parties. Maybe it's the money. Maybe the tabloids just get it wrong. Either way, these celebrities have managed to have lasting relationships after some of the most highly publicized cheating scandals in history. Sometimes, all it takes is firing the nanny (why is it always the nanny?).

Jude Law's cheating scandal led him to love

Jude Law has had a notably complicated love life, but it's largely muddied up by his own hand (and a little help from the tabloids). According to News of the World (via Female First), the British actor's first marriage to Sadie Frost struggled after they decided to become swingers and swapped partners with Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey and his "lover," Pearl Lowe. Law reportedly "became obsessed" with Lowe and began "begging her to have an affair." Though Law denied it, Frost confirmed the report to the same tabloid (via The Guardian) in 2005.

Things fared even worse for Law's engagement to Sienna Miller, which saw the actor fall into the trope of cheating with the nanny. The main problem was that the nanny ended up breaking the cardinal rule of celebrity affairs: don't dish to the tabloids. According to The New York Post, the caretaker claimed she had "mind-blowing, rampant sex" with Law, who eventually confessed in a statement.

Today, Law seems to have steered his love life away from Hollywood and into the real world. After such an embarrassing tabloid run, it's hard to blame him. According to Harper's Bazaar, he's been with Phillipa Coan, a non-celebrity and psychologist, since 2015. Page Six reports that the pair tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their first child together the following year.

Nannygate marked the end of Bennifer and the start of a new era for Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck's cheating scandal infamously closed the doors on the second coming of Bennifer, lest we forget the original, which is only survived by a smattering of tabloid headlines and the hilariously terrible film Gigli. Bennifer 2.0 rose to fame in the prime era of celebrity portmanteaus, and for a decade, it seemed like the rare celebrity marriage that was meant to last — at least until Affleck hooked up with the nanny.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Jennifer Garner admitted that the so-called "nannygate" was "bad judgment" on Affleck's part, but the pair's relationship was over long before that. Nonetheless, they were still technically married when the Argo actor had an alleged affair with Christine Ouzounian, their children's au pair, during what Us Weekly described as a "secret 10-month trial separation." According to ET, Ouzounian tipped off the paparazzi — and needless to say, that did not help the couple get back together. According to HuffPost, their divorce was finalized in 2018.

Though Affleck told The New York Times that his divorce (and not his bizarre back tattoo) was "the biggest regret of [his] life," he has managed to find love again. According to Harper's Bazaar, the actor has been romantically linked to his Deep Water co-star Ana de Armas, and the pair are regularly papped walking their dogs and looking loved up.

It turns out that Halle Berry's ex-husband Eric Benét isn't a sex addict

Halle Berry's former husband, Eric Benét, had a cheating scandal so infamous that it warranted a shout-out in a Jay-Z song. In a 2004 Oprah Winfrey interview, the actress admitted that she found out about the affair in the tabloids, but it wasn't until Benét flew to London, where Berry was filming Die Another Day, that she discovered the truth was even worse. "I wanted to fix it, but still something wasn't right with him," she said. "I found out there was woman after woman after woman after woman after woman, and then I realized he had a sickness."

Following the revelation, Benét enrolled in a 12-step program for sexual addiction, according to Daily Mail. It wasn't enough to save the pair's relationship, and Berry filed for divorce in 2004 after about three years of marriage. Despite the headlines surrounding the split, Benét spoke out years later and claimed he was not actually a sex addict. According to New York Magazine, he chalked his cheating up to "making some stupid-a**, stupid-a** mistakes" (apparently, rivaling Jesse James in the process). Today, he's managed to maintain a lasting relationship with Prince's ex-wife Manuela Testolini. According to Us Weekly, they tied the knot in 2011.

If only for an embarrassing mugshot, we'd have totally forgotten Hugh Grant's cheating scandal

When Hugh Grant burst onto the scene with Four Weddings and a Funeral, he was hailed as a bashful-but-charming heartthrob. The Brit was the ultimate rom-com lead and clearly took his good reputation — and his longtime girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley — for granted. Pardon the pun, but there's not much we can say when you're blatantly caught with a sex worker, and the embarrassing mugshot is immortalized in the tabloids.

In 1995, Grant was in Los Angeles to promote Nine Months. According to The Guardian, who captured a report in a local paper, the star was driving around the Sunset Strip when he picked up a sex worker named Estella Marie Thompson (aka Divine Brown) and paid her to "perform oral sex on him in a nearby street." They both got arrested, but it was Thompson who really made out. She reportedly scored $100,000 from News of the World for the first-hand scoop. Grant, on the other hand, had to pay a $1,000 fine and face the wrath of his now ex.

Though the pair split in 2000 after 13 years, Closer revealed that they're still besties. Grant is the godfather of Hurley's son Damian, who she had with the late businessman Steve Bing. Grant has also managed to finally tie the knot. According to Marie Claire, he married Anna Eberstein in 2018. The pair share three kids.

Prince Charles' affair made his future wife the 'most hated woman in Britain'

It's unclear which came first: the British tabloids or royal scandals. It's like a question of the chicken or the egg. Either way, the longest-reigning British monarch had a lot of bad press on her hands when her eldest son was caught cheating on the people's princess.

Prince Charles' affair with his former girlfriend Camilla Parker Bowles destroyed his marriage to Princess Diana. In 1995, the Princess of Wales admitted to BBC News that "there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded." What happened? According to Mirror, the royal couple split a month before "Camillagate" went public with a leaked transcript of an intimate 1989 bedtime conversation between Charles and his mistress. The chat was salacious enough that it landed Parker Bowles the title of "most hated woman in Britain," but the public eventually had to get over it because she wasn't going anywhere.

Charles' relationship with Princess Diana was largely regarded as a whirlwind even though she was widely adored. According to the Independent, there are longstanding rumors that the royal family didn't approve of Parker Bowles and put pressure on Charles when they first started dating. That's how it plays out in The Crown, and if that's the truth, the universe righted its wrongs. The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall tied the knot in 2005, a whopping 35 years after they dated for the first time.

Ashton Kutcher circled back to his on-screen love

Ashton Kutcher may be a modern-day superhero, dedicating his life to saving child sex trafficking victims, but there was a point where his actions were less commendable. According to a report in Us Weekly, the actor allegedly cheated on Demi Moore with two girls in a hot tub on their six-year anniversary. Sara Leal, one of the women in question, eventually came forward and spilled the dirty details, claiming that Kutcher told her that he was "separated" from the actress. Moore later told Diane Sawyer on ABC News that she found out about her husband's cheating through a cellphone Google Alert. When questioned, Kutcher reportedly owned up right away.

In the past, Kutcher denied cheating on Moore, but that was before the actress dished the details herself. After the release of her bombshell memoir Inside Out, the actor only cryptically tweeted about resisting his desire to comment. It seemed like a subtweet to Moore, if we ever saw one. As he put it, life has been good ever since he tied the knot with Mila Kunis, whom he dated on-screen during his run with That '70s Show. The pair have since started a family.

Kelsey Grammer wasn't so cheery after his massive divorce settlement

Kelsey Grammer made the unfortunate blunder of cheating on a reality star, which thrust his infidelity into the spotlight as it played out on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Was it worth it? Some could say that the Frasier actor did so in the name of true love, but even Grammer claimed lying to his wife was "ill-advised," or so he told Anderson Cooper in 2012.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live (via Daily Mail), Grammer admitted that he fell in love with a British flight attendant named Kayte Walsh and embarked on a six-month affair before leaving RHOBH star Camille Grammer, who had been his wife for more than a decade. He claimed he first met his lover on a flight to England. "It was very romantic, she was working on the plane," he said. "We went out for coffee several days later and had this magical night in the snow in London around Christmas time."

Kelsey's messy divorce was cemented in Bravo history, but it also proved to be the start of an enduring love. In 2011, Camille reportedly walked away with a $30 million divorce settlement, and Kelsey walked away with a new wife. According to E!, Walsh and the Cheers star tied the knot later that year and have since had three children.

Melania Trump really don't care about the alleged affairs, do you?

Before Donald Trump coined the term "fake news," he was already the king of it. The star has been a tabloid regular for decades, largely because of his relationship drama. Trump is a notorious cheater, at least if you're going by the headlines. Most famously, former adult film actress Stormy Daniels told In Touch that she had an intimate encounter with Teflon Don right after his third wife, Melania Trump, gave birth to Barron (and, apparently, during Shark Week). Former Playboy Model Karen McDougal also told The New Yorker that they had an affair. The magazine went as far as claiming that Trump "used clandestine hotel-room meetings, payoffs, and complex legal agreements to keep affairs — sometimes multiple affairs he carried out simultaneously — out of the press." Beyond that, he's faced numerous accusations of sexual assault and harassment, stemming back to the 1980s.

Melania appears to be the one person who will proudly champion Trump's racist conspiracy theories. They may just be a match made in heaven — or hell — despite their occasionally awkward interactions. In truth, he may have never found her if his alleged cheating didn't crumble his first marriage to Ivana Trump. According to Business Insider, they divorced in 1991 after his affair with Marla Maples, his soon-to-be second wife, hit headlines. Melania only came into the picture in 1998, the year after he and Maples split.

Edward Cullen may be immortal, but Kristen Stewart's relationship with Robert Pattinson wasn't

In 2020, Kristen Stewart has put her tabloid drama behind her. According to Elle, she's been dating screenwriter Dylan Meyer for more than a year, and the couple is "stronger than ever" (and seriously lowkey). Before that, Stewart was the first one to admit that her love life was — as she told InStyle "sort of cagey." This was none more apparent than during the actress' most infamous tabloid moment: her 2012 cheating scandal.

In 2012, Stewart was at the height of her Twilight fame, and her highly publicized relationship with co-star Robert Pattinson had already been tabloid fodder for years. That summer, paparazzi caught the actress canoodling with someone who was decidedly not her on-screen love — it was Rupert Sanders, her Snow White and the Huntsman director, who also happened to have a wife and kids. According to Us Weekly, the actress publicly apologized the same day the tabloid published the photos, and Daily Mail claimed that stress from her subsequent breakup caused some noticeable hair loss.

Stewart is notoriously uncomfortable with the spotlight, and the actress rarely addresses her past infidelity. Only during a 2019 appearance on The Howard Stern Show did she gloss over her relationship with Pattison and, by proxy, the scandal. "I've actually never been allowed to just say what happened because I was so self-conscious about seeming like an attention seeker," she admitted.

Tiger Woods' wounds may have healed, but his reputation didn't

In 2009, Forbes named Woods the first professional athlete to earn a whopping $1 billion. Unfortunately, none of that money stopped The National Enquirer from immortalizing the golfer's cheating scandal on the front page and destroying his marriage in the span of a Thanksgiving weekend. As the New York Post put it, Tiger Woods' legacy "fell apart with the swing of a club" — and it was his wife, Elin Nordegren, who was raising it above her arms while chasing him out of the house.

Per The New York Post, the Enquirer's report detailed Woods' alleged infidelity with an NYC nightclub hostess named Rachel Uchitel, which was actually a lot less interesting than the events that happened after his wife found out. It involved the undercover sting of a lifetime, in which Nordegren pretended to be Woods and texted "I miss you" to the hostess from her husband's phone. Uchitel inadvertently blew up the golf pro's spot, and at some point shortly after, Woods locked himself in a bathroom before his wife chased him out of the house, wielding a golf club. The hubbub ended with Woods unconscious after he peeled out of his driveway and crashed his Escalade into a tree.

Since then, Woods has physically recovered, but his reputation has not. Nonetheless, his longtime girlfriend, Erica Herman, doesn't seem to mind. According to Express, they've been dating since 2017, and she regularly attends his tournaments.

Tristan Thompson better not blow his second chance

Sometimes history just repeats itself, or in the words of Matthew McConaughey, time is a flat circle. In some respects, Khloe Kardashian had to endure the ultimate betrayal before reigniting her relationship with baby daddy, Tristan Thompson. If you believe the rumors, she got a taste of her own medicine. If you don't, you still can't help who you love.

According to Glamour, Thompson has been subject to cheating rumors since the start of their relationship, which people claimed began while he was still involved with his pregnant ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig. Kardashian has since denied this. In an Instagram Story (via Glamour), she revealed that they were set up on a blind date after things didn't work out with Craig. It should be noted that she called it her truth, which may very well not be Thompson's truth, though she did note that his mother confirmed his single status. Mama's know best.

Kardashian's relationship ended like it began: with cheating rumors. In 2018, TMZ caught Thompson allegedly cheating on the reality star while she was pregnant with their daughter True. Their relationship didn't end until the following year when, according to People, Thompson hooked up with Kylie Jenner's longtime friend Jordyn Woods. Yes, another Jordan, but this time with a y — and a why?! As of 2020, a source told the tabloid that the couple was "giving their relationship another try."

Woody Allen had an affair with his sort-of stepdaughter, then married her

Woody Allen's cheating scandal is a thing for the history books. If Mia Farrow and the director had ever actually gotten married, he would've ended up in an affair with his stepdaughter. Because they didn't, he's floating in some bizarre grey area that's not exactly legally wrong, but it's downright bizarre.

According to The New York Times, Farrow adopted Soon-Yi Previn in 1977 when she was about seven years old. Allen started dating Farrow a couple of years later, and the pair had their son Ronan. By 1991, the director had adopted Farrow's other children, Dylan and Moses. He didn't file the same paperwork for Previn, who was 21 years old at the time. Instead, they embarked on an affair, which Mia discovered the following year when she found a nude photograph of her daughter in Allen's apartment. Shortly after, Allen and Previn confirmed their relationship, and they've been together ever since.

Though Allen's marriage has been widely criticized, especially in the wake of Dylan's sexual assault allegations, Previn has defended him, telling Newsweek (via Rolling Stone), "I'm not a retarded little underage flower who was raped, molested, and spoiled by some evil stepfather — not by a long shot.Okay, then.
