Why Sharon Osbourne Just Had To Hire Security To Protect Her

Sharon Osbourne is no stranger to stirring up sticky situations. Remember when she seemingly couldn't stop going after Kim Kardashian? Or what about the time that she sparked a feud with her (now-former) The Talk co-host, Marie Osmond? Well, Osbourne once again found herself in the middle of an eyebrow-raising (and potentially dangerous) circumstance in March 2021.

Things first started to take a nasty turn when Osbourne defended her friend, host Piers Morgan, following his controversial comments regarding Meghan Markle. Morgan's comments came after she had opened up about her life and what she'd faced as a senior member of the royal family during an interview with Oprah Winfrey along with her husband, Prince Harry. That came around the same time that incredibly disturbing allegations were made public regarding the fact that Osbourne had allegedly used racist and homophobic slurs against Julie Chen and Sara Gilbert, both stars who have worked on The Talk.

While Osbourne took to Twitter to address what had happened, those behind The Talk decided to put the show "on temporary hiatus while producers investigate Osbourne's actions," according to Page Six. However, that's far from the only fallout from the star's actions. It turns out that she's had to hire security for a very serious reason.

Sharon Osbourne has been facing something scary

Sharon Osbourne is surely used to facing the occasional backlash over her bold (and sometimes controversial) comments. However, things went from critical to downright scary in March 2021 after she came to the defense of Piers Morgan when he went after Meghan Markle.

According to sources that spoke to TMZ, "Osbourne and her family — including her dogs — have been receiving death threats." Indeed, along with getting some harsh hate on social media — which saw her turn off her Instagram comments — the star has apparently "received several calls to her home threatening her safety." In response, Osbourne has hired private security guards who were assigned to watch over her home (and everyone inside) in Los Angeles.

While the television host will have to wait to see if her job is permanently affected by what went down, hopefully, she won't face any further consequences that are more dangerous.
