The Truth About Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino's Tense Relationship With His Family

From Donald Trump's niece writing a scathing tell-all book to sisters-in-law having a little beef in their big world, many celebrity families aren't exactly feeling loving towards each other right now. And Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's family is now one of the many that are reported to have serious issues with each other. Yikes.

Mike and his wife, Lauren Sorrentino, may have faced a couple of "situations" here and there, but they've recently welcomed a beautiful baby boy together back in May. This is Mike and Lauren's first child together, and the new parents actively document their family's cute new experiences on Romeo Reign Sorrentino's instagram account

It seems like all is good on the home front, so if Mike is experiencing familial bliss with his immediate family, who are the extended family members Mike has issues with? Keep scrolling to find out — and get the scoop on the whole "situation."

Mike called the police on his brother

Giving gifts to parents after a baby is born is customary tradition within any family. But that gesture of goodwill might not be so "good" in the Sorrentino family, especially when there has been a history of controversy among the siblings.

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino recently called the cops on his brother Frank Jr. "Maximo" Sorrentino for dropping by the reality star's home with presents for his newborn. Mike's rep told TMZ that the "Jersey Shore" star watched his brother from inside his house, where Maximo allegedly "excessively rang multiple doorbells, peered inside through the glass, lingered a bit and then turned to leave" after leaving gifts at the door.

But this tense relationship didn't appear from thin air. In fact, the two brothers have had some issues for a long time, per Mike's rep. In fact, Mike has "previously filed harassment claims against Maximo," per TMZ, "because he feels his brother's been having erratically." (Per CNN, they also once had a fight in their tanning salon, which led to Mike getting arrested for assault in 2014.) Due to Maximo's alleged behavior, Mike would like to be notified before Maximo shows up to his home.

While there's not-so-friendly feelings on Mike's side, Maximo doesn't have the same sentiments his famous brother shares. Even though Mike felt the need to call the police, Maximo believes if the roles were reversed, he would "never do that" to Mike.

Mike also had legal issues with his other brother

While this wasn't the first time Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino had issues with Maximo, Maximo isn't the only brother the reality star has been in hot water with.

Mike and his other brother, Marc Sorrentino, were infamously caught in some legal trouble back in 2018. The brothers were accused of "filing falsified tax returns on nearly $9 million in income," per NBC News. According to the outlet, Marc was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to "one count of aiding in the preparation of a fraudulent tax return." For his part, Mike was sentenced in 2018 after pleading guilty for one count of tax evasion. He went to prison for eight months and was released in September 2019, but also was sentenced to "two years of supervised release, 500 hours of community service, a $10,000 fine, and had to pay $123,000 in restitution," per NBC News.

Mike has officially completed community service and his probationary period in September 2021, and took to Twitter to celebrate. "Probation officer just left, Community service completed, I'm a free man, Probation is over, The Comeback is always greater than the Setback," he wrote.
