What We Know About Kat Dennings And Tom Hiddleston's Relationship

These days, Kat Dennings is preoccupied with planning her wedding to singer and artist, Andrew W.K. However, once upon a time, she was linked to another famous face.

Well, not just one. The "Two Broke Girls" alum has been in the spotlight since Dennings was a tween, so it only makes sense that many of her previous relationships have been with fellow A-listers. In fact, a few years ago, she was in a serious relationship with none other than Josh Groban, after the two were introduced by Dennings' former co-star and close friend, Beth Behrs. Dennings and Groban ultimately split in 2016, with an insider telling E! News at the time that while the famous pair were "still friends and care about each other," it just wasn't "the right time for them now as a couple."

Years prior to that relationship, though, Dennings was rumored to be close with someone else — and no, we're not referring to her "Dollface" co-star and ex-boyfriend, Matthew Gray Gubler. While those two did indeed spend time together, we're talking about a star with whom her relationship was a little more murky. That is, her "Thor" co-star, Tom Hiddleston.

They never defined the relationship

Rumors that Kat Dennings and Tom Hiddleston were an item first began in 2010 when, as E! News reported, the two appeared loved up at that year's Comic-Con. Adding fuel to the fire of rumors, Dennings and Hiddleston were caught by paparazzi walking arm-in-arm outside of the events' festivities.

However, the actors weren't seen together for years after that. In fact, it was only at the "Thor: The Dark World" premiere in 2013 that the were photographed side-by-side. As reported on PopSugar, they did share a kiss at the event — but, much to the chagrin of those hoping for something spicy, only on the cheek.

Not all is lost, though. As has been noted by E! News, Hiddleston has a history of not publicly confirming his relationships. Just three of his love interests have cracked the nod over the years. In 2012, he confirmed that he had been in a relationship with Susannah Fielding when he announced their split to Daily Mail. At the time, he explained, "the relationship ran its course." Earlier this year, he confirmed his quiet engagement to Zawe Ashton in an interview with Los Angeles Times. "I'm very happy," he said, speaking of the relationship. In light of that, there's a chance he and Dennings were once an item, and he merely stayed mum.

Kat Dennings opens up about love

That said, while Tom Hiddleston may have a history of keeping his relationships on the down-low, the same can't be said of Kat Dennings. Quite the contrary, as the actor has often spoken about her love life, both in interviews, and in glimpses shared via social media. "I've had a storied love life," she famously told InStyle in 2019 — so it only makes sense that she'd be willing to spill any Hiddleston tea.

Speaking of Josh Groban on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," she revealed that they had some back-and-forth online before becoming an official couple. "He's very witty on the Twitter," she chuckled at the time. As for her current relationship with Andrew W.K., she's been very forthcoming with fans, posting regular pictures of him since they first went Instagram official in April 2021. Dennings has also been open about their engagement. Speaking to Drew Barrymore on her eponymous talk show, Dennings gushed, "We had a special moment that makes me believe in magic," she reminisced. "We looked at each other and we both proposed at the same time."

Given that Dennings is at ease speaking about her romantic encounters, we have a feeling that if something had happened between her and Hiddleston, she would have confirmed it by now. This "Dollface" star has had a storied love life, but her "Thor" co-star doesn't seem to have been a lasting character in it.
