The Truth About Paul McCartney's Kids

Legendary musician Paul McCartney has five kids. The former Beatle has four kids with his first wife, Linda. The rock-and-roll legend also has a daughter with his second wife, Heather Mills.

Paul and Linda were inseparable once they started dating in 1968, until Linda McCartney died in April 1998 from breast cancer. According to Rolling Stone, the McCartneys were married almost 30 years and only spent 10 nights apart during their marriage. Paul adopted Linda's daughter Heather from a previous marriage and the couple had children Mary, Stella, and James.

A year after Paul's beloved wife Linda died, he fell head over heels in love with Heather, a former model turned activist. The superstar married his second wife in 2002, but they separated in 2006, and Paul and Heather's divorce was final in 2008. The legendary musician forked over a $35 million settlement in the divorce, but it was worth it. Heather's supposed shady past and their public divorce were hard on the entire family.

The former Beatle married American Nancy Shevell on October 20, 2011. Paul posted an anniversary message on Instagram to his wife in 2020. Paul's sweet message to Nancy said, "Congratulations Nancy on our 9th Wedding Anniversary. Thanks for 9 beautiful years of marriage. You are my rock and roll, you are my A side and B side, you are my verse and chorus. I love you. Paul."

Daughter Heather Eastman McCartney is very private

Heather Eastman McCartney is the daughter of Paul McCartney's late wife, Linda Eastman McCartney, from a previous marriage. After Paul and Linda married, he adopted Heather when she was 6. Heather made a brief appearance in the Beatle's documentary "Let It Be" when she was a child, but Heather is one of the most private members of the McCartney tribe.

According to the McCartney Family website, Heather's biological father had a "lifelong influence" on her, but she "considers Paul McCartney to be her father." Heather is not married and does not have children. According to Closer Weekly, Heather is a "prominent British potter and designer." The outlet reports that Heather's work is seen in art exhibitions worldwide, including New York, Phoenix, Tokyo, Paris, and Sydney.

In 1999, The BBC reported that the oldest McCartney daughter launched a collection called Heather McCartney Houseware Collection. Paul helped Heather promote her line of housewares, which were extremely successful. Heather revealed to the outlet that time spent with the Huichol and Tarahumara Indian tribes inspired her work.

Heather told BBC, "When I first met them some years ago they introduced me to many things, including the bold use of colour which is evident in my new designs."

Daughter Mary McCartney takes after her mom

Mary McCartney is the oldest daughter of Paul McCartney and his late wife Linda Eastman McCartney. She's been in the spotlight since she was a baby. According to The Things, when Paul and Linda got married, she was pregnant with Mary. Mary is the baby under Paul's coat on the back cover of Paul's first solo album, "McCartney." Linda took the photo for the album; it launched Paul's solo career and contained the iconic song "Maybe I'm Amazed," Paul's tribute to Linda.

Mary is a professional photographer and a passionate vegetarian. She's married to director Simon Aboud, and she has four sons. Life is good now, but it hasn't always been that way. The Sunday Times reported that Mary was 29 when her mother Linda died in 1998.

She married her first husband Alistair Donald in 1998 and welcomed their sons Arthur in 1999 and Elliot in 2002. The couple separated in 2005, divorcing two years later. In a 2019 Sunday Times interview, Mary said, "I lost my mother, got married, had a baby. I think of it as a shame not to have stayed married ... Relationships are the most intriguing thing to get right."

Mary married Aboud in 2010, and they had two more sons Sam and Sid (via Closer Weekly). Mary's son Arthur looks exactly like his grandfather Paul. In March 2021, Paul announced on Instagram that he's collaborating with Mary and Stella on a vegan cookbook.

Stella McCartney is Paul McCartney's most famous kid

Paul McCartney is one of the world's most famous musicians, but his daughter Stella McCartney is one of the leading fashion designers. Stella built a global fashion brand, and she's the go-to designer for celebrities and royalty worldwide. Meghan Markle wore Stella McCartney for her wedding reception, and the list of celebrities who love the brand is jaw-dropping. According to Harper's Bazaar, Kate Hudson, Rihanna, Amal Clooney, Jane Fonda, Beyoncé, and Gwyneth Paltrow wear the brand.

The third McCartney daughter is married to Alasdhair Willis, and the couple share four children: Miller, Bailey, Beckett, and Reiley (via Closer Weekly). Stella and her famous dad have always been close, with the exception of a few years during Paul's marriage to Heather Mills, as Heather blamed Stella for her marital troubles. In 2007, Heather did a U.S. media blitz, venting to all the talk shows about the McCartney family and her divorce. Jezebel hit back writing, "Stella is not the one who's turned to the media to unleash her hate. Isn't it crazier that Heather Mills is pouring her heart out to the press?"

As noted earlier, Stella is teaming up with her dad, sister Mary, and food brand Linda McCartney to launch a vegan cookbook. The trio is stoked, and Paul announced on Instagram, "Years ago, before anyone had woken up to the idea of environmental and health and animal welfare issues, Linda was blazing the trail with vegetarianism, telling people about it and promoting it."

Son James McCartney is also a musician

James McCartney is Paul McCartney's only son and he followed in his dad's musical footsteps. Since Paul and bandmates John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison made up one of the best bands in history, it's good that at least one kid is a musician.

According to Closer Weekly, James is a singer and songwriter who has worked with Paul. Like his other siblings, James struggled after his mother Linda died in 1998. James was only 20 when his mom died, he revealed to The Mirror that he got into drugs after her death. But James has set his life on course now.

The former Beatle's son is not married and does not have any children. Being a musician when your dad was the leader of one of the world's greatest bands is no easy task. The Times acknowledged the burden of being Paul's son, in a review of James' concert. According to the outlet, "Anyone could see that James McCartney, playing his maiden headlining London show, had a considerable cross to bear."

The Times review continued," [James] seemed to have inherited his father's entire face, but not his extrovert ease ... Only four songs in, on Listen, did McCartney seem to take proper leave of his inhibitions."

Daughter Beatrice McCartney is from Paul's marriage to Heather Mills

Paul McCartney has written and sung some of the best love songs in modern music. But his marriage to second wife Heather Mills was not a love story. It appears the best thing to come out of his second marriage was his daughter Beatrice, who is just 16. The youngest McCartney kid is still trying to figure out her future but Closer Weekly reports Beatrice knows how to play the saxophone. The family works to keep the youngest McCartney out of the public eye.

Paul fell for Beatrice's mom a year after his beloved Linda died, and found out after they married that Heather was not who she appeared to be. To make things worse, Heather did not get along with Paul's daughter Stella or his son James. McCartney's only son told The Mirror that he and Paul went through an estrangement after Linda's death. In his chat with The Mirror, James said the break with his dad was "partly because of Heather. It was difficult because of Mum's death."

But things are patched up with Paul and James told The Mirror, "I don't have a problem with Heather now because she is Beatrice's mum." Beatrice's siblings have put any ill feelings aside for the sake of their little sister.
