This story contains potential spoilers for the Season 25 finale of the Bachelor.

After all that, The Bachelor may not even end in an engagement. Season 25 star Matt James has weathered his fair share of on-screen drama, from surprise arrivals to an emotional confrontation with his estranged father

Off-screen, things have been even more taxing. Spoilers reveal that Matt ends up with controversial contestant Rachael Kirkconnell, and Cosmopolitan reported that the couple called it quits amidst the rumors about Rachel's racist social media. Even longtime host Chris Harrison has apologized to Bachelor Nation

But it doesn't end there: fan-favorite Top 4 contestant Bri Springs has unfollowed Matt James on Instagram, with her mother joking to "burn" the present Matt brought Bri's younger sister during their Hometown date. Bachelor guru Reality Steve is even reporting that ABC will shock audiences with two Bachelorette seasons in 2021: one with Katie Thurston, and another with runner-up Michelle Young

So with all these shakeups, fans are now convinced that Matt doesn't even propose to Rachael in the highly-anticipated finale. Keep scrolling to find out why audiences are siding with Reality Steve!

Fans believe Matt James won't get down on one knee

There might not be a Neil Lane engagement ring this season. While viewers are certain Matt James picks Rachael Kirkconnell as the Season 25 winner, spoiler king Reality Steve claimed on February 2, 2021 that Matt doesn't pop the question. He later took to Twitter on February 22 to confirm that Matt and Rachael broke up over the scandal surrounding her social media.

"I figured he wouldn't propose because he's not ready to be married to anybody that doesn't surprise me," a fan responded to Reality Steve's claims.

"Thank God he ain't engaged to [Rachael]. It's easier for them to not work out since there's no engagement," another follower tweeted. A viewer even called out Rachael's "low energy" enthusiasm joking she'd want to "be asleep" during Matt's proposal.

Post-split, fans believe that Matt is currently dating Heather Martin, who briefly appeared on his season and was edited out of the Women Tell All, per Pop Culture.

Matt previously told Entertainment Tonight that he was ready for marriage. "That's why I came on [The Bachelor]," Matt promised. Of course, Matt wouldn't be the first Bachelor to walk away without a fiancée. In fact, nine other men before him have done the same, per PeopleAnyone else remember Colton Underwood asking Cassie Randolph to date him, or Juan Pablo Galavis' uncomfortable ending with Nikki Ferrell? Turns out they all broke up too. Maybe Matt is following suit!
