- Amy has been the co-editor and writer of the irreverent pop culture blog Clarissa Explains F*** All since 2014, and the blog was listed as one of the "14 funniest feminists online" by Elle UK.
- Her broad skillset of pop culture knowledge pared with her passion for all things femme, horror, and trashy, have led to a variety of opportunities including leading a talk about David Lynch's "Fire Walk With Me" for Northern Film and Media and performing her micro poetry collection "Into Survival" -- a droll insight into the psychology of some of horror's most tenacious Final Girls -- for the Liverpool Horror Festival.
- An occasional musician and former music journalist, Amy has also been a music correspondent for Bustle, chaired a women in music panel for the Writing on the Wall festival alongside journalist Laura Snapes, and was a featured guest on Kill Rock Star's "Say Yes: An Elliott Smith Podcast" with Sean Cannon.
Experience
Amy is a pop culture obsessive who celebrates camp, kitsch, and femme alongside explorations of darker narratives. As such, she's a great lover of all culture that connects the dots between the mundanity of everyday life and the often extravagant, abstract, and horrifying expressions of it within creative and public realms. Having started her career as a music journalist for publications like Clash Magazine and Kerrang, Amy moved on to write about movies, TV, and celebrity culture as a staff writer for Bustle. Since leaving that role, she's enjoyed bylines with a variety of publications including i-D, Broadly, Allure, Film Daily, and The Mary Sue.
Education
On top of equipping Amy with a set of sharp and witty writing skills which endure to this day, her degree in Imaginative Writing from Liberpool John Moores University also provided her with the ability to study and understand the creative process and semantics behind all forms of culture and media. For her dissertation, she focused on film and screenwriting, giving her a keen insight into the industry.
